I started my girl with I can read to learn phonics when she was in k1. After the PRP stage, I started her on Ladybird Peter and Jane series and she slowly learned to read progressively. This series is recommended by many parents here too and sold widely at most bookstores. Can try out 🙂

DD learns reading via beestar. It offers online reading worksheets, full of interesting stories and cute pictures. Every worksheet includes 10 questions and is timed. This is challenging for her. There are many kid uing beestar, so I can find out where DD has been. It helps DD a lot. :imcool:

My godson attends BrainFit English Classroom at Parkway Centre and does reading via a software called Reading Assistant from the U.S. Impressive programme as it uses state of the art voice recognition system. It corrects/prompts him if he fails to read properly. It will also test him on comprehension after the reading.

I too have signed my son up at BrainFit Classroom @ the Literacy Post at Bedok. I made the plunge and have not regretted. Imagine seeing my kid talk more and more each day as he reads his online book. I do my part to go through all the new vocab the software highlights with my son and this has improved our relationships too!
