I think I will get a iPhone 4! Excited to see how the local telcos will price it. Especially, for those that just got the iPhone 3GS during launch event.

I guess for recent 3GS subscriber they will get free software updates...

I am one of them 😢
I don't want free software updates, I want iphone4 with reasonable price, no penalty. 😛 😄

Hubby got me the 3GS in April this year…I was persistent against getting it. I was very happy when I realized it was quite user-friendly although it took me a while to learn how to send/reply/forward sms.

I use Wi-Fi at home and mum’s place. Other than that, I do not surf Net when we are outside. Hubby’s colleagues tell him it defeats the purpose but I’m just a simple user.
If I were to get the iphone 4, it would be for the video conferencing and 5 megapix camera.

I think the video conferencing bit could be via wifi only...saw in some article. If like that, a bit tough cos not all places got wifi. Need to verify.

Yes, the video call only via wifi and iphone4 to iphone4. Not from 3G connection at this moment which I feel its a constraint too.

I thought the video conferencing would similar to Nokia or other phones with this feature…ie select phone call or video call. However, I am satisfied with my 3gs as the pic resolution is sharp. Uploading pic on FB is easy too.

I’ve downloaded and converted many songs into my ipod.

Don’t think other makers of handphones are as successful as Apple. Watched news yesterday and iphone 4 was mentioned on TV.
Don’t use iphone for internet when I’m at home…prefer my laptop.

Nope, the iphone4 video call don't work this way. 😞

                    daisyt,

The video conferencing function for other brands work when the other party has similar function. Didn’t know that for iphone 4, it only works on wi-fi. Then it is really not worth for me to get it. Hubby has data function sim card but if I use it, then my own sim card cannot be used.
                    Thanks for letting me know.

Many of the so called new features on iphone4 are already available on other phones earlier. There is not really anything too exciting from this phone.
