I remembered something about the iphone 4 being scratch-proof…put a Hello Kitty cover on my iphone 3GS. Like my handphones to be scratch-proof

There is no such thing as scratch-proof casing or screens. They may be more resistant to scratches, but after months of usage, the cracks will start to show. Better safe than sorry. Give your phones some protection before you start using/abusing them.

            hquek,

I think I’ll get the plastic to piak on the iphone…not just to protect the surface but also easier to clean the surface (oily surface).

Apple claim the material of the glass on iphone4 it's called aluminosilicate glass, and is the sort of glass used in the windshield of high-speed trains and helicopters.

Came across this article about dropping test. \"The engineers at iFix your i dropped their iPhone 4 housing three times. The device survived the first two drops, but at the third drop, they say there was a loud 'pop' sound, and the glass housing shattered. The drop was performed from 3.5 feet up\".

Any ksp parents have tried scratching test, let us know the result.

I take back my word, the glass can shatter...someone dropped it 'by accident' and his telco wants $328 to exchange for a new one.

Even if the iphone 4 survives the dropping test, the motherboard and other components inside wont' be able to do so. Besides, such electronic stuff shouldn't be dropped.

I dunno about the 3GS nor the IP4, I still have my trusty first gen 2G iphone WHITE.
DD plays baby piano and flashcards on it, and listens to baby mozart on it. She has dropped it from our bed to the parquet floor, sofa to marble floor, car seat to car floor, flung it into her food/our food, at dogs/cats and worse, dropped it all the way from our room balcony on the second floor to the wet grass in the garden, so many times I cannot keep track.
Talk about the ULTIMATE engineering test, they should employ DD 😄
Now my phone's home button is a little slow to respond but the reception, volume and gaming abilities have not been compromised
