you know why Principals of such schools don't wish to disclose ?
because scared they malu, esp. when highest score is low. Then nobody want to enrol their child in that school. That's why many of them want it hush hush, want to sweep it under the carpet.

To them, if public don't know, if parents don't know ... better still. Many of them are so secretive - esp. when come to Quality percentage passes, subject by subject. They dare not post openly on their school website. They know that parents who are concerned for their kids will come to them as Head of school - hey P, what's wrong with this or that subject ?

come on man! if you're Principal of a school, you should be bold and open. What's there to hide ? If any subject in your school is particulary weak, then as Head of the school, you should go and find out, troubleshoot exactly where gone wrong, what went wrong ? is it the curriculum of that particular subject in your school not strong enought (yet to improve), or those teachers teaching that particular weak subject not motivated to teach pupils well, or any other reason(s) ?

Well, as Principal of a school, he /she should be bothered to go and find out. Not act as quiet as a mouse - dare not publish Quality %tage passes for their school. Some schools even worse - not a single webpage on any academic info is disclosed.
        :udawoman:

The whole motto of \"all schools are good schools\" would be a tough road with such thoughts. HSK, I feel for you, publishing niche programs is useless if parents are still wanting to know the quality passes hence back to KPI of achieving HIGH quality passes. :faint:

Don't most schools conduct a briefing session on the quality passes to the parents of the school? Why is there a need to showcase on the website when the most parents WANTED to enrol their kids to the nearest school during P1 reg and lamented how PR/foreigners robbed them of the chance?

Kind of defeats the purpose , No?

Schools do release P6 statistics to their own students and parents, with details of quality passes etc. Just bec they don’t publish it on their websites and current P6 parents of that school don’t share the info with kaypoh parents on ksp doesn’t mean the schools are trying to hide the info.

hey guys. any school can produce one or two top students. However, what I want to know more is the quality passes. For example, how many get A or A*, how many students score 250 and above.

Its already so hard to know the top score, it is unlikely for the school to breakdown the quality of passes.

Thats what I dont like about the whole hush hush thing. Lack of transparency.

Now that they cover up the top schools, they are also not giving a chance of the breakout schools that did well in a particular year, so going forward people will be stuck with the impression of good schools of the current era for a long long time.

Do you have children in P6? Didn't your school share breakdown of P6 stats with you?

In fact we are considering Dunman & NJC but NJC cop is 258. not sure how is the chances of getting in.

If your DD prefer NJC than Dunman than you should put NJC as first choice or she will probably end up in Dunman. By putting Dunman as a 2nd choice, will not lower her chance of getting into the school. Posting is base on merit & not choice. She stands a better chance than those who have lower score than her.

How can this happen? Its absurd. Imagine the damage done to the gal if she got a lower score. Can someone advise me if I shud pay and check my son's paper? Cos based on my son's standards he should have gotten a better score.

No harm checking. But I was told that the result will post probably not change.

with this forum, the principals of some schools who didn't want to announce the top scorers in their school, wonder how they feel. Parents ask they refused to tell. Come on be open minded.
