Newton Kindergarten
-
Hi –
This thread hasn’t been as active recently. My child will be attending Newton Kindergarten’s playgroup next year and I was hoping that parent who had their child in either PG or even N1 in the recent past might be on these boards and could post about their experience. Thank you. -
Hi, my child is currently attending PG and he loves it. Everyday he looks forward to going to school. The teachers are nurturing and patient with the little ones. Couldn’t have picked a better school

Thank you! Reassuring!!!

Hi - can anyone kindly update this forum with the quality of teacher-parent communication and the current principal please? I’m thinking of sending my DS2 to N2 next year.
And any thoughts on the extended chinese language program?
Thank you!!! -
Hi. Anyone signing up their children in 2020 for N1??

Wow – this is a while back. We’ve been at Newton this year and my daughter loves it. Absolutely loves it and I think the teachers have been lovely. I am not going to send her for N1 in Jan – because she was accepted to a different preschool that is only a walk from our house – but I am torn – she really loves it.

How far is Newton compared to the nearer preschool? You may also want to consider the size of the preschool and if the teachers will be just as nurturing. Both my kids are in Newton and the absolutely love school! We continued in the school despite moving further away. We also like it that the principal is very hands-on and the motherly teachers are really caring and nurturing.

Hi – I may keep her in newton a couple of days a week – the nearer preschool is only a 10 mins walk v. 40 mins w/ a bus. Also chinese immersion – so I am going to keep both for now.

40 min is a long way. While there is Chinese immersion, the effect on the child is really not amazing. Just sharing... Many Newton K1 and K2 kids still cannot speak Mandarin fluently and those who can have enrichment.

I have a few neighbours whose kids attended Newton (last one just graduated). They all shared that every child in the class attends tuition/enrichment. Neighbour 1 has 3 boys. First 2 kids only attended Newton and did not do well in Primary school Chinese. Her youngest attended a chinese enrichment (From Tiny Acorns, which is recommended by neighbour 2) near Newton kindy and is now the most fluent and strongest in Chinese. Only 6 years old but can speak, read and write better than P2 brother. Neighbour 2 has 3 girls. Youngest also at same enrichment and also speaks even better than older sisters.
