lolz.
The programme at the end emphasizes on the fun and process of the game....told them not to focus on winning....maybe this is their other objective? Since these days many kids always want to win? :?
ksi,
at the back of my mind, i have this nagging feeling that MediaC's objective of the game is not to repeat the same 'mistake' which let the first team have the chance of winning $3500.
whether the sch gets to win any cash is not solely dependent on how well prepared the students are; it also depends on the difficulty level of the questions set, so there is no stopping MC from setting tricky, difficult question to get students'/schs' participation for free.
and besides, it is no competition, but only an alternative form of entertainment. i find chinese 'variety' programmes that featured sch vs sch (there used to be one for sec level and i was totally impressed by the standards of these students) more meaningful.

Actually when CHS left with 7 in the game, I thought that was very few survivors until I watched the subsequent episodes and now I know 7 is alot of winners.
Come to think of it, if each episode has average $3500 won, Tien Hsia and Morris Allen have to pay out quite alot of money if there are 10 episodes. Direct advert on TV would have been cheaper? But this is assuming when the celebrity team wins, they don't collect their winnings. If they do, then $3500 is really nothing much....

I don't think it works this way. The sponsors usually paid fixed sum to Mediacorp. The prize money likely comes from Mediacorp. Anyway a few thousand dollars is nothing. A TV ad already costs much more than that.

imagine, to win just $500, one student will have to get correct for all the questions posted. and yet the celebrities' combine effort of getting the series of questions correct can win themselves more than $500 (assuming they get to keep the money); where is the logic? -
Yesterday was Nan Hua, 2 students left.
The questions were not difficult.
The 2 male celebrities are humble, seems like give chance. -

I think when the celebrities win, the money goes to charity. Thought I saw a quick flash on screen last week that the winnings go to some charity.
