Like to know any difference between BrainFit Studio & BrainFit Classroom?
Hi
BrainFit Studio does only brain fitness training. BrainFit Classroom is another unit under their program which offers English enrichment and they incorporate some form of Brain Fitness training which supposed to boost the learning ability of the child.
I believe you can find more info from their respective websites.
Hi, thanks!
Anyone with children in their program, can give some comments or review?
How accurate is their mind mapping?
Is their report detailed?
Hi troubled (I hope you are not troubled anymore!
),
My girl has been to BrainFit at Novena and has improved a lot. I am especially happy because she focuses much better now and I have a much much easier time teaching her. Also less forgetful and school results had a big jump end of last year although I did take leave to help her prepare. My girl really enjoyed her sessions there. This is important because school has so much homework which she dreads! I really don't know why the school must give so much homework, it is quite crazy. Anyway, it is good to see her have some fun, which is also helping her brain develop. I think it has been worth it. Good luck! -
Hi TeacherDaddy
Thanks for sharing your experience with Brainfit Classroom. I may not have checked it out otherwise although I have heard of Brainfit Studio.
The computer component of their English program uses Fast ForWord which is also used in Dyslexic Association of Singapore (DAS) as part of DAS education program that all dyslexic kids need to take.

I think it's a great program for kids who are poor in phonics, spelling and/or reading. My DD just went for the half hour free assessment and it's consistent with what we observed. I think for parents who suspect their kids may be dyslexic but are taking a wait-and-see attitude, check out this program to see if it will work for your child.
I will be signing her up soon once we work out the logistics. Thanks again for sharing your experience and taking the effort to maintain this thread. I will be leaving a PM for you. Please check later.
:thankyou: -
My DS had been attending the Brainfit Classroom for the entire last year. He is in p3 now. He has visual processing difficulties and has short attention span.
The Fast Forward program is used interchangeably with the Reading Assistant program, ie one term of each program. I will pay to subscribe for access to the Fast Forward program during the Reading Assistant term so I want him to have daily practises. I had spoken to medical practitioners and have my own beliefs in how the brain works and I also notice that it is useful for him.
I am undecided if I should continue beyond p3. To be clear, it is not because it is no good. Rather it is because his weakness is in open-ended Comprehension and essay writing and given the limited time that we have on weekend, it may perhaps be better if I send him for writing class instead. That said, I will continue with my Fast Forward subscription as I am happy with the progress in terms of his visual processing.
I subscribed for both programs last year (1 term for Reading Assistant and 2 terms for Fast Forward) when my DD was sitting for her PSLE. She has her normal enrichment class so this is supplementary. -
Is brainfit any different from mind champ, mind edge?

Hi,
I am new to this forum and after reading so many pages of queries and comments by all. I decided to share my experience here.
My child has learning difficulties and has not been doing well in school since P2. In June last year, I decided to give Brainfit Classroom a try as traditional tuition wonโt really help him due to his very short attention span. I would like to share that I see improvements in my childโs academics since he attended Brainfit Classroom @ Kovan. First of all, before attending the class, he was not able to express himself well in terms of speech. His sentences were in broken forms like puzzles and we would have to piece them up and prompt him in order to understand what he wanted to tell. At about 3 months into the programme, we noticed significant changes in him as he was "suddenly" able to structure his sentences better when speaking although there are still short pauses in between. He is now one year into the programme and we begin to see improvements in his academics as well although he still has a lot of catching up to do. In our recent meet up with his school teachers, his teachers also agreed they see improvements in him. I am going to let him continue at the center. And most important of all, he enjoys the programme and looks forward to attend and do his Fast Forward practices at home whenever he has time in the evening.
This is the experience I have with Brainfit Studio. Hope it helps. -

Yeah, program work so well that they close Jurong East location at 200 jurong east avenue 1 less than 1 year later. Take at look at your first post show 4 locations.
Now only 3. Sorry, I share my advice too for fellow members to see for themselves. Many better programs around without computer problems all the time.TeacherDaddy:
4) There are currently 4 centres in Singapore and they incorporate MOE English syllabus. The latest one is run by a former MOE Teacher in a Hokkien Huey Kuan School at Bedok Reservoir.
Another year later, seems the Brainfitclassroom centre at Bedok closed too. Just heard Brainfit Studio at East Coast will be closing end of this month. Seems the Studio only open for 1 year too. Not sure I'd believe in a business that keeps closing their businesses after 1 year or constantly has computer problems. Something definitely wrong. -
Anymore success stories to share?

I sent my DD for assessment 2 weeks ago but havent got the time to go back for the report. Will go back maybe 2 weeks later. The fee is about $ 80 per session for the group settings. Wondering if it will be effective too or not too.
