Yep, agree with washing too often will produce more oil bcos the skin will think it is dry.Nebbermind:
visited a doc recently and was advised to keep skin clean by washing regularly, ie, 3~4 times daily. Also told not to apply any cream on them.
Dunno if that's the correct way coz I read that your face will produce even more sebum if you wash too often coz the skin thinks it's dry. Just wash once in the morning and once before you sleep. Ladies should also use a makeup remover.
For those who really have bad acne problem, should consider getting those series for acne problem. Bcos even for acne problem skin, should also have things such as toner, moisturer (oil-control), scrub, sun block etc. Just that for such series, once the acne is under control, should change back to the milder series. -

1) Drink lots of water. Drink 8 cups a day. Minimum, 6 cups a day. If you're doing well, good job.
2) cleanse your face twice a day. In the morning and at night. NEVER cleanse more than that, because it'll dry out your skin. Also, if you sweat and exercise, you are welcome to cleanse more than twice. But no more than 3 times, okay?
3) Steam your face once a week. This is is extremely good to treat acne. If you dont have a steamer, just get boiled water and hover it over your face. Be careful though. hover it over your face for about 15-20 minutes and then pat your face dry. Then maybe put on a mask, if you have one. Steaming your face is good for acne, because it improves blood circulation. and it opens up the pores, and it just does wonders. I just steamed my face like a couple hours ago. my skin is so fine
4) This may sound corny, but it's true. Believe that your acne will go away, and you'll have beautiful skin. and don't stress over it, because it'll make stress pimples. -
A pimple is oil and bacteria mixed together. If you kill the bacteria, you lose the pimple. The bacteria in a pimple thrives WITHOUT oxygen. If you add oxygen to it, the bacteria dies. The fastest ‘home’ remedy to killing bacteria in a pimple is applying hydrogen peroxide to it with a cotton ball for a couple of minutes two to three times a day. The oxygenating action of the hydrogen peroxide kills the bacteria. After each application of hydrogen peroxide you need to follow it up with an application of salicylic acid cream to the pimple. This will further help the healing process.

The first thing you need to do is to talk to your daughter and tell her that this is not the end of the world. I know that other kids will try to make fun of her. You need to give her the mental strength. You also need to buy her a facewash. There are so many great ones. The best one is the Aloe Vera one.

Take a lot of sea salt crystals and dissolve it boiling water. Wait for it to cool down. Before going to bed apply it to a cotton ball and spread it over your face then wash off in the morning. Within two days you will see results. Also you can try honey and sea salt mask which is basically the same mix honey and sea salt apply it on your face when you go to bed. You can keep it neat by placing a towel under your head and when u wake up wash it off. You can also you chamomile tea and sea salt apply it to your face at least 2-4 times a week to see results.

Yeap I have Doxycycline on stand by in case the acne blows out of control ... I start on a course of antibiotics to help with the healing... but this is not preferred as I do not want to be overly reliant on antibiotics :stupid:kiasimom:
I will suggest bringing her to a dermatologist if the condition is severe.
We need anitibiotics sometimes. Me too
Hey Guys,
I feel your pain, glad those days are behind me. Just a note on the doxy. So antibiotics fight bacterial infections. Different bacteria are and have developed resistance to antibiotics. AKA the superbug, MRSA etc. I stand corrected but I believe there is even an antibiotic-resistant Ghonorea in today's world.
Antibiotics, in my opinion, were formerly the general practitioner's answer to way too many things - I was issued more antibiotics over the years than a small army needed.
The core of this issue is that antibiotics are not working on a host of bacterial infections and the likelihood that more bacteria will evolve and resist is a certainty rather than a maybe.
On the rare occasion I do have a breakout. I find Manuka honey acne treatments really effective. Manuka treatments are amazing for bacterial acne breakouts and Manuka restorative skin repair properties, wound and blemish repair are well documented and supported by research with clinically proven findings. http://bit.ly/2GyHIU7
Here is an article from Healthline on types of acne http://bit.ly/2GvY7c5
I myself use a natural manuka based acne product called active clear http://bit.ly/2DPIRmB
I would also recommend getting a good face wash or cleanser. If bacterial breakouts are the issue you need to be disciplined with your cleansing regime.
thx
