All About Getting Help for Students Weak in English
-
ORT should be Oxford Reading Tree.

There are some workshop for teachers/ parents for compre, compo strategy, some named ‘compre strategy for weaker students’. Before you go, please take note that compre 阅读理解 is for pupils who can read阅读. If your child can read a passage, then I do have some effective techniques to recommend to you. If your child is very weak, P1P2 word also cannot recognize, then you should focus on the foundation, which is oral and listening, plus some reading of basic word ‘P1P2生字表’.
Please leave your questions here, I will try to answer. -
May i know when will be the workshop?

The workshop for PSLE compo will be 2013 March or April, probably organized by SPH & SEAB. Look out in Da Mu Zhi (big thumbs up), I will update in the forum in near date.

Hey there I would like to give English tuition lessons to primary school children on a 1 to 1 basis preferably. I am a Sec 4 student (16 years old) from a Band 1 Secodary School in the West side of Singapore. I had a PSLE aggregate of 251 with an A* in English. In secondary school, I have done well in English with a percentile of 90% and above (which means I'm in the top 10% in my level for English, coming in tops for a few major school exams). I have also participated in the Creative Arts Programme which is mainly about creative writing. I have also been a mentor for English creative writing to primary school kids under the Gifted Education Programme when I was in Sec 2.
I'm really hoping to tutor primary school kids because it seems like a good experience for me and I do love the subject. Since I'm not a qualified teacher and I haven't gotten my Olevel results too, I'll charge very low rates! Around $15 per hour. Negotiable
I'm contactable at 96539261.
