Ya, I have seen thousands in most of the assessment book. ????tutormum:

Take for example a given set of numbers - 18452. For place value, it means how much the digit 8 represents which in this case 8000 or 8 thousands. Another way this question is asked is \"What does the digit '8' stands for?\"
I was going thro a question in an assessment book and the answer given was just 'thousands', which meant it wanted the 'place', essentially different from '8000' or '8 thousands' which is the 'value'.
It also means that the question 'What does the digit '8' stand for?' is different from 'What is the place value of the digit '8'?'. -
