        Hi

Pls kindly help. I just do not get it why the number of muffins that jennifer has is 49 (answer is $21).

Grace baked 99 muffins. If Grace gives Jennifer 25 muffins, they will both have the same number of muffins. Jennifer then sold her muffins at 7 for $3. How much did Jennifer collect from the sale of her muffins?

Pls draw model if possible. Thank you.

          G [ U][25][25]

          J [ U][25]
          Grace at first = 99
Grace gives Jennifer 25 and they become equal right? so draw something like drawn above.

so the from the model we can infer that,
          Jennifer at first –>99-25-25
          = 49

this is how you get 49 for Jennifer…

sorry workign from office, no time to upload drawing…

Yes, Jennifer initially had 49. But, the question says that Grace gave Jennifer 25 muffins. Jennifer then sold the muffins at 7 for $3, meaning Jennifer should also sell the 25 muffins given by Grace. So, if I am not wrong, Steadyberry's question is that why weren't the 25 muffins included in the sale?

              Hi mother777, qms

Thks for replying. Qms is right. My question is why the 25 muffins were not included? I am :?

This question was taken from P3 Distinction in Maths by just Ed revision 1 section C no 45.

                The question stated \"IF\".

Meaning Grace never gvie Jennifer the 25 muffins.

Unless the question states \"AFTER\", then it will be included.

                  Hi lynn,
thanks for coming to my rescue.. I had gone for lunch..had a nice phad thai and was lazy to check the forum..

yes you are correct. The if condition is just helping us to find the initial amount of muffins Jeniffer had..

Since this never happed, we will just use 49 pcs of muffins which she initially had to calculate the amount she will receive..

                  Hope this explanation helps..
