      Hello,

Can help me solve this one.

The cost of 7 erasers and 3 rulers is $5.05.
The cost of 2 erasers and 6 rulers is $3.95
Find the cost of 2 erasers and 2 rules.

      Many thanks.

I think when the person designed this question, he or she failed to take into account if the student had tried a different approach to this question. Using a different approach, the cost of an eraser is $0.5125 and the cost of a rler would be $1.025.
When I set Math exam papers for my school, I make it a point to make the figures realistic. The unit cost of items must have at most 2 decimal places.

However, the solution provided was very creative. Thumbs up. šŸ˜„

yes, if using algebraic approach, will get a 4 decimal figure, the answer of
        1 eraser = $0.5125 and
        1 ruler = $2.925/ 6 = $0.4875
think WS1234567 keyed in the wrong figure for the cost of ruler

ya.........non-realistic figures for the cost of 1 eraser or 1 ruler
unless the teacher who sets this Question thinks that
all buyers have to buy 2 erasers and 2 rulers together....... šŸ˜‰
(dun think she work out other methods of approach)

hi bookwormkids, this has a multitude of answers. Maybe the book just picked one of those. Examples of answers would be: 115, 226, 337, 448, 559
