Some may not put NUSH CO as their first choice, so there may be more vacancies appear on PSLE release day.

BTW, good luck for your ds RI interview today. Did yo apply for NUSH DSA? 😄
yes Kiasucy , this is what I am meaning. going via DSA 2 is easier then DSA1 due to \"Some may not put NUSH CO as their first choice\" and have lots of vacancy at the end.

try for school that hard to get in via DSA - (RI / RGS) is more appropriate. other schools still you go via PSLE for example NUSH is easier to get in via PSLE route though their COP is like 250 cause more accepting CO via DSA is less.

Actually,I feel that it's more difficult to get into NUSH thru psle route. Only 10% of intake, ie abt 17 since total intake is only 170 is accepted thru psle route. Furthermore, cop is 260 w A* in both math n science.

Some may not put NUSH CO as their first choice, so there may be more vacancies appear on PSLE release day.

they don't participate in S1 posting but they have parallel DSA 2 process (for PSLE results). just you need to apply separately . Not always the 90% full strength is reached due to various reasons during DSA process and again the 10% is tentative as long as the student have the COP matching and or have the relevant talents and still you have vacancy it is easy to get in NUSH via DSA 2 route .
            I understand d procedure.
If we use 90%/10% DSA1/DSA2 as a guide, wld u agree d year-on-year % is not going to deviate very far fr these %?
Those who did exceptionally well in PSLE scoring 260 n above with A* in M&S, wld, going by last 2 years COP, hv his/her pick of any sec. school with d exception of RI, RGS & NYGH.
I see ur point if there r not dat many who hv those T-scores opting for NUSH after PSLE results.
However, I reasoned wat u posted earlier may give other forummers d wrong impression.

Looking purely at the number of vacancies available for S1 Central Posting, it would be easier to gain admission to RI/HCI vs NUSH (vacancies of approx 200 or so vs 20 or so), and also assuming that the calibre of students seeking admission into these schools are the same.

If the dates for DSA tests for RI and NUSH clash, I say go for the school that you really want to get into, not which one is easier to get into during DSA. RI and NUSH are such different institutions in terms of curriculum, history, culture, ambience… One would surely appeal more to you or fit your personality and academic ability than the other.

Even if there is a vacancy, it does not mean that NUSH will take in max 170 students.

Yr 1 2012 intake, from the class list pasted on the board during admission day, there were 4 classes with 24 students and 2 classes with 25. So total is 146 yr1 students.

😄 I just wanted to highlight certain school with higher COP is best to try via DSA if there is a situation to choose one to go on sat. Also I will say :please: parents have to do their calculations to go for or not.
