Hi Lakshmi & leevenlakshmi v:
Mamona, have you received any emails from the mother tongue society yet?. We have not. Anyways all the best to your dd :rahrah:
Which school's you and Mamona are DSAng (sorry in case I didnt notice ) what does that mean the DSA schools have given some other options but not the MT society. Then good na
I didn't change the DSA interview but I requested the MT Society to reschedule as lot of their students are also having the same problem so they are trying to arrange an alternative date. I didn't hear anything from them yet but I am calling them & chasing them for the confirmation.
My DD is appearing for RGS DSA.
Regards, -
My friends' sons and my DS came out of the hall looking dazed n tired after the 2 1/2 hr test. :frustrated: Think quite tough to get in through HAST, only 90 seats, half already reserved for their feeder boys.
What's the difficulty of the HAST paper? some of the boys from DS's GEP class commented that it wasn't so easy.3G:
Hi PSLE Mums and Dads!
I'm a newbie, just hopped over from registration site : )
Looks like excitement is brewing with so many children being called up for interviews at RI, RGS etc. I feel excited for you just by reading your posts.
For my DS, still pending..He applied only to ACSI and it's a relatively easier process. Just do HAST, submit portfolio and personal statement and WAIT for result.
Yes, interestingly the GEP boys said it wasn't that easy. My DS (not GEP) said that English was the defining paper, he took a while to decide on the best options, while Math and Abstract Reasoning were relatively manageable, especially Math. His friend who also did the HAST at NJC said it was much easier than ACSI's.
We signed up for the test on 22 June, there were 480 boys who did the test in the hall. Not sure what was the attendance for the other two test dates. -

Nope! my dd has a friend who scored closed to 90% in SA 1 and she is in the 6 pax group.
Just a guess...maybe NYGH is assessing which interview method is more effective in getting the GEP girls to join them.
Maybe big group is the one with very good SA results (eg av high 8xs%) so no need to speak much with them more or less will give CO, while small group is the undecided batch ie must find out more to check them out and some will not be offered. Just a guess.Snow Crystal:

Yeap! i am not sure what is the rationale behind such arrangement. :?
My DD was with the 20-pax group. When asked how the session went, she said she was very impressed with Mdm Heng's friendliness and the food

It's purely depending on HAST result. Feeder boys are only given priority for their \"O\" level track.Oodles Mummy:

Many times, the boys claimed that the paper is tough, but still they manage to get through. Tell your DS to look at the bright side. Afterall, he has done his best.

Thanks Yukilei for your kind words, the parents here are so encouraging, spurring us on.
When we attended the open house talk, they mentioned 50 vacancies for non- feeder, so looking at the 90 allotted for DSA, I thought the other 40 should be for their own feeder boys. -
