This year is Dragon year , competition will be intense , so worry for my DS.
Oh yes, forgot about Dragon Year effect. Don't worry, work hard for PSLE and if he gets into dream school, very well. But if not, whichever school he gets, make the best out of it. I have a DS too and people say they bloom later (I hope). Push into dream sec school must also survive well there. The truth is sec Sch is a beginning of another bigger race. All the best to your DS! :rahrah:

Thanks a lot Funx3. For a moment was worried cos' I have yet to compile DS's 'portfolio'....wondering where to start from :scratchhead: πŸ˜“

          Ha Ha ....
          Port-Fo-Lio .... Such a Big Word!
Sista Here Was :scratchhead: :scratchhead: my Head Last year in May/June Period Too!
Where to start? What to Put in? Am Totally Clue-less Too!

Finally, a couple of Wks B4 the Submission Date, I Took up the DSA Application Forms, Follow what is Stated Faithfully ....

Get my Gal to Write a Personal Statement - Like What they Stated,
Dig Here , Dig There (Like My Doggie! Ha Ha!) ....
Out comes a Stack of Papers ....
And Submit these, Some On Line (Got So Much to Scan! πŸ˜“ ), Some Just Staple and Put in a Clear Folder and Submit to Sch ....
          And that Completes the Port-Fo-Lio! πŸ•Ί πŸ•Ί

Not so .... Scary, after ALL! πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

          Funx3,
you sure make it sound simple πŸ™‚
ok, so I can still shake leg.....until nearer the time....anyway, only plan to DSA 2 -3 (one cos' he likes Maths, the other cos' nearby πŸ˜‰

              Hi BeContented,

Which schools are your son trying out for? I guess NUSH is one of them? If you have all your son's relevant certs in a file it's not stressful to put together his portfolio. πŸ™‚ Just make certified true copies.

                jtoh,
do you mean we've to get the primary school to certify all the document that we need to submit before we scanned? eg results slip, certificates?

Some schools only require you to submit an online application and when you're called up for the next stage, you'll be required to bring your original certs for verification by the staff. Some schools request that you send in certified hard copies of your certs. Usually it's a good practice to get the school to certify your important documents like your school results and important competition results and have these on standby.

In this case, better to prepare a few sets for the school to certify during school holiday. The admin staff will be busy with this then.
Once again, thks for the info

The criteria for dsa for performing arts states that the child has to score 80 marks and above for all subjects. What will happen if the kids did not score above 80 marks for all subjects ? will the dsa application be automatically rejected as the students did not meet the min. criteria or will they still stand a chance of being called for audition ?

                        Thanks!
