why so stressed ?
sports DSA are meant for top few at national level for their respective sports
if you are outside the group....I would suggest you manage expectation and don't put so much hope - that is more detrimental. Just go study hard for the PSLE. grade A is a wide range below A*.
She clocked 80 hours training per month and averaging 85 for all her subjects. I can't be asking for more.
Guess just have to move on and seek alternative route. -

GEP & Platinum for SMOPS get rejected ? :yikes: Really scare me
For yr ds classmates who did not receive the CO fr nus high, are they good in maths and science?leeven:

My DS is from GEP too. together with him there are few of his class mates in the camp but unfortunately they didnt get . So NUSH dont see GEP/NON GEP. It is based on the Test & Camp and DC profile.
And my another friend's DS is from Main stream got CO too.
But I do know they will only give entry to Einstein Club to those who perform well in NMOS/SPSO.....
No direct entry pass for Einstein Club. Last year, my DS classmate who was in Einstenin club was not given a CO or WL. Another case that I knew, there was a parent in KS forum also face the same faith. If you interested you might want to do a search, I rememeber the parent name was \"RSS\".

You didn't mention which sport your dd is DSAing under. Is your dd a National medallist? If she managed to procure gold, silver or maybe bronze at the National Schools and has a consistently strong showing in her CCA, then assuming she did alright in GAT she should have a chance at an interview. The school calls up students in batches. So hang in there.

btw, has your dd heard back from MGS? -

Yes, rather surprising he got rejected with Platinum in SMOPS. Maybe he didn't do that well for the Science portions. Then again, there have been cases of students with Platinum in SMOPS getting rejected by other top schools too. Maybe there needs to be a Diamond award in SMOPS if Platinum is no longer exclusive enough.
I think the value of SMOPS has dropped. Too many out there. Throw a stone might hit a few students with SMPOS awards :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

My ds's friend (GEP) was awarded platinum for SMOPS but was rejected by NUSH. Don't know what he got for NMOS or RIPMWC though.

That's why I understand how she is feeling now.

Dd attend interview at Nygh on Monday. What is the next step? When will we know the result?
Just wait and no need to do anything.
One of my DD friend asked nygh principal and she said school will release the result after PSLE oral test (17 Aug). -

I thot this actually reflect well on NUSH. It's not just about academics, they look at other aspects. On NUSH website, they did mention the qualities they look for during the selection camp - passion, problem-solving, teamwork & leadership etc.

No need to know how to fly. Just need to be able to build an aircraft propelled purely by wind and able to carry the applicant from NUSH to NUS campus.
