I think the value of SMOPS has dropped. Too many out there. Throw a stone might hit a few students with SMPOS awards :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

I tot only abt 70+ out there ? Maybe next time DSA schools expect the kids to know how to fly too :rotflmao:

No need to know how to fly. Just need to be able to build an aircraft propelled purely by wind and able to carry the applicant from NUSH to NUS campus.[/quote]No wonder DS1 just completed a project whereby they need to design & build a model car that is able to knock down 10 bowling pins ! Maybe next time no need buy cars from dealers, get the students to build one ! Save $$$ :rotflmao:

        why so stressed ?

sports DSA are meant for top few at national level for their respective sports

if you are outside the group....I would suggest you manage expectation and don't put so much hope - that is more detrimental. Just go study hard for the PSLE. grade A is a wide range below A*.
She clocked 80 hours training per month and averaging 85 for all her subjects. I can't be asking for more.

Guess just have to move on and seek alternative route.

core CCA in sports also do about 80 hours of training per month, normal kids, not sports DSA kids

My ds's friend (GEP) was awarded platinum for SMOPS but was rejected by NUSH. Don't know what he got for NMOS or RIPMWC though.

What about his science? Mayhe he/she did not do well for round 2 where the pupils are solely tested on Science.

Anyone heard of any pupil who has consistently excel in both maths and science but failed to get a CO from NUS high?

He is good in Science too.

            Worriedpapa:
DD is mainstream and she had her RGS interview today. However she is Under DSA Sports. Was a panel interview which was more of a chit chat.

            Now the anxious wait.....

            Gd luck all
Hi, Worriedpapa, when did you receive the email informing you for interview? My DD is also DSA in sport, still waiting for RGS.

            Thanks

Yes. It's depend on sport also. For competative swimmer, very normal for 8 sessions / week.
But 80 hr / month is no joke for kid, should give a :hugs: kid.

If Dd applied for 5 schools and all schools called her for interview, will she spoil her chance of getting a confirm offer if she admit that she dsa 5 schools. Is this a very important consideration for the interviewer?

I suppose the interviewer will question why your DD choose 4 other schools other than theirs? So this question need to be tackled carefully n handled with tender care.

This was the question to my DS \" How many school you applied\" and he honestly told 3 schools in total. U need to be careful if the question is \" if you have CO from X & Y school , which school will you choose\"
