Yes, I asked this to RI & ACSI. Answer was \"No\"GoodDad:
I was wondering whether SCs are given priority like P1 intake ?
I asked this same question to RI P - Ms Lim. Her answer was \"NO\". All are the same, base on merit.
but for NUSH, Sport school are diff
If I'm not mistaken there are a number of Korean, Vietnamese and China students studying in NUSH. -

More than half feeder school.. non feeder school 2 out of 6 my son knows where GEP. There were also students from very very less popular school-2 students. CO / WL like NUSH we collected outside the call given by vice princi. Usual talk. But princi repeated many times that DC dont want to ACS then sign the form for rejection and gve them. All 90 + 54 were punctual i think cause they called the name if letter nt collected.Oodles Mummy:
So all who got ACS I CO/WL tomorrow 4:30 pm CPA1 room meet the principal . Is it same for all :? .
Hi Leeven n other KP who attended the meeting at ACSI this afternoon, can give me some feedback about it? From your observation, are most of the COs given to feeder or non-feeder schools? Mostly GEP students? What is the turnout like? Thanx!!
Every were blue and white uniforms. Hardly counted 15 other uniforms.
Yes, Leeven's right. 90 COs for IP and 54 COs for Sports DSA. Quite a number on WL. Some parents whose children are on WL were called up as late as 4pm (meeting with principal at 4.30pm). Heard of a couple of COs offered to feeder students who went through interviews earlier in the same day. More than half from ACSP and ACSJ. DS recognised key school team players from rugby, swimming teams etc. and many members of Prefectorial Board.
An encouraging sight was, as what Leeven pointed out, the students from less well-known schools with their proud parents. The selection is based on merit, and capable students all stand a good chance.
Principal stated that WLs have averagely a 50% chance to be upgraded to COs. But he also said that since this is a \"fiery dragon cohort\" and it is the first year that the IP comes under MOE's PSLE centralised posting, it is hard to say if COP will go up or be sure of how many WLs can be upgraded.
Hope this helps

Wow, didn't check this thread for a day and there's such a flurry of good news! :rahrah: :rahrah: Congrats to all KP and their DC - kids who are barely 12 yet have sealed the deal with GAT/HAST, domain tests, sports trials and interviews which rattle even the adults..WELL DONE, CHILDREN!!! You're COOL! :imcool:
Haha, yes, aren't they? Cool gen-Y! :celebrate: -

If you read the RI thread, you will notice that the RI parents are worried why their DSs do not feel stressed (as if our DSs feel stressed then we are happy hor :siao: ).. My DS does not seem to have a lot of homework (maybe he does a lot of group work in school).. He is on the computer most of the time (FB & games).. And he spends a lot of time on his CCA (which he enjoys very much)..
Hi yukilei,yukilei:
:thankyou: firefly38. Am still not sure whether will choose the Raffles family. Am afraid it's too stressful. DS not those type who study very hard. He always want work life balance. So till to date, Sun is always outing day for him regardless of exam or non exam. He also doesn't like to read a lot. Not sure if he suits Raffles Family. :?
:congrats: Just to share with you, RI may not as stressful as what people tend to think, at least not so in year 1 and 2. Not too sure abt year 3 and 4 though. To me, distance is an important consideration too.
All the best to yr ds.
congrats.
In short, the RI boys play hard and study smart.. Does your DS like RI? Most importantly, he must like the school then he will look forward to going to school and enjoy himself there.. :boogie: -

Hi julia can you kindly elaborate on the colored sentence?
Principal stated that WLs have averagely a 50% chance to be upgraded to COs. But he also said that since this is a \"fiery dragon cohort\" and it is the first year that the IP comes under MOE's PSLE centralised posting, it is hard to say if COP will go up or be sure of how many WLs can be upgraded.

So for past years S1, the boys can only choose ACSI as a school but not the course. The school then decides internally what is the S1 COP for ACSI IP for these 90 boys - last year COP being 255.
But now with IP under S1 means the boys have two choices for S1- ACSI Express and/or ACSI IP. So the school has no say on COP as it depends on demand VS supply under S1.
Can someone enlighten what would be the difference(s) after ACSI IP goes under S1? And what are the possible impact on COP?
:salute:

Would like to share. For DSA sports, if your DD is not one of top three finalists at national level for individual sports, chance is slim, but for team sports, higher chance.
National level top 3 finalists trying for sports school ?. -
