      Nebbermind:
The prev yrs COP of cedar n st nic are quite close. So won't be surprise it'll be close for their IP too.

But st nic may be able to retain their top students from their pri school n also attract top catholic students who wish to stay in the family, their could be higher. Also, since the tops students will be spread over to newer ip schools, we may perhaps see some drop for the prev top schools.

Anyway, if u r interested, just put it as yr higher choice.
I read abt the IP programme article in today's straits times. It says more emphasis into non core subjects research and teaching. wonder if MOE will step in to help IP students to prepare themselves for the A levels.

Have not read that yet. But I presume if these r mostly 255 or higher, they r of some 'pedigree' n prolly need much lesser time doing the standard academic stuffs. So they can make better use of their time acquiring other skills.

agree. but having said that, students still need to prepare for the exam, which is still syallabus based…it’s like another PSLE exam you know, but this time for the 18 year old boys and girls.

There will still be some form of streaming at yr 3 n 5 so they still have to put up a good fight during the yr2/4 exams.

I would think it should be around same as cedar, maybe a bit higher if more of their affiliated students with high t score choose to stay on.

If their express cut off is 249, then for ip it's ard cedar standard. Any points higher will be nygh or RGS Liao.

              I am not sure.
              Cedar IP to VJC
SNGS IP to unknown JC to be built just in time for 2013 batch.

              Cedar uses VJC IP programme
SNGS uses ...... (is it the same with the other two schools?) IP programme

There is an element of uncertainty in SNGS IP, which is not helped by opaque disclosure to concerned stakeholders....

Dear Blue Dolphin, agree with you. It is still untested. Very new programme to them. As per my threads above, wonder why St nicks still remain so secretive abt their cut off points.

Just to share. For those who are going for Hwa Chong's Parent Symposium on 20th Oct, Sat, I've confirmed with HCI that the kid can tag along.

                  Can only the kid attend?

urrr... I only have 1. I believe should be ok. I don't think they'll stop you if you bring along another child.

We're suppose to RSVP. I replied the email, informing them my DS will be going & HCI replied me, saying ok.

Maybe you can reply their email.

Can understand that some will not be convinced. But st nic, Catholic high and SCGS are all powerhouses with strong alumni backing so I have faith in them. But I'm not expecting others to share the same faith. If one is uncomfortable, then there are always other options. Do what is right for u 😉
