Interesting question to them. SS has taught them the history who won. They learnt a lot in detail. They were encourage to attend rally in the last GE...alamak, they all failed
why never ask the question : 'you choose wp or pap ? why ?'; or 'what's the difference between wp and pap, besides colour?'

may be they don't ask - in case the candidate is the son / grandson of a minister or the president :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Not sure if I heard correctly at the ACSI's Open House principal talk. I think it was mentioned they only have 50 places for DSA? I was at the non-feeder school session so not sure if the 50 applies to no. of places for non feeder school. Based on my understanding, in the past, very few students from my ds' school were offered place in ACSI.Any feedback for ACS (I) IP.
* how difficult is HAST.
* Any samples other than what school gave us when registering.
* is it just HAST results alone or certs also they look.
* How difficult is the DSA process. Any past experienced parents here , please please help.
* How many students are selected and CO given to them (past few years)and how many accepted it. -

Did the RI online system say applicants must leave the data in 1 or 2 decimals? Else, can round off to the nearest whole number? :please: -

Wow, GoodDad, :udaman: Thks for the info.
Yes, agreed. Just relax and enjoy the interview. For RI, the interviewer will be all the level head and the \"P\", Ms Lim. My son was interviewed by her. Nice chart and she has a \"poker\" face. So you do not know how well or bad you have done.GoodDad:
It's not that stressful nor difficult. Certainly I don't think my dd nor her friends complained about it being stressful. The panel isn't there to trick the kids. Sometimes it's the parents who get nervous and pass on this stress to the kids, asking them to memorize standard answers or stressing how important the DSA process etc. Keep cool, tell the child it's just chatting with the teachers. When the kids are calm they'll perform better.
For questions like potatos and oranges, there's no correct answer. So why worry about it?
The questions that I remembered from last year RI GEP interview.
1) You want to be a pen or pencil?
2) You want to be a screw driver or hammer?
3) You want to be bowling ball or football?
4) What time of the day do you like?
5) Which country do you like to visit?
6) Do you read? Do you read the newspaper? Which section or news that caught your attention
7) Which animal you want to be? I guess this questions Ms Lim has mentioned during her Open House presentation. Her answer was Eagle.
Do you like cooking?
9) Which super hero you want to be?
10) What is your greatest achievement?
11) Why you want to come to RI?
12) Have you apply DSA to other schools?
13) If you are given CO from RI and xxx school, which one will you choose?
14) Have you visited RI open house? How many times?
15) How to improve the RI open house
16) What have you taken back with you after you have visited RI open house?
17) What is your hobby?
To add : this is what I've heard.
18) Do you read? Which author do you like? Why do you like the author.
19) What's the strength/weakness of RI[/quote]
One more important question, how can forget.
20) What is leadership to you? Or How do you define leadership -

To what I know, ACSI takes in about 180 students for year one IP program. 90 is reserved for DSA. Not sure how many will be reserved for feeder schools (ACS(P) & ACS(J)).
To my best knowledge, last year all the GEP boys from ACS(P) who applied DSA to ACSI were awarded CO or WL. -

We were at the HCI open house too. Thought the sharing by the parent of an existing student was very good. She said she has 3 kids, 1 in ACSI, 1 in HCI (Sec 3) and 1 in RI (sec 2). She feels that the school support is strongest in HCI based on her personal experience. The consortium head worked closely with her when her son was not doing well last year and was able to counsel the boy to achieve stellar results at the end of last year. Her point is when the children move to teenage phase, they tend to listen more to their teachers, peers than parents. So it is important to have good support from the teachers and school when things donโt go well. She mentioned she was not too happy when she wrote emails to RI teachers for her younger child and did not receive reply. Those were good feedback to keep in mind.

Understand that for year 1 IP program in ACSI, more then 60% of the students are from non-feeder school all over Singapore.
From non-feeder school.GoodDad:
