All About Choosing and Buying Pianos
-
My experience with all the salespersons/owners of the Piano shops in Singapore has been a pleasant one. I let my daughter try different pianos when possible, from the less known brand to the top of the rank without any prejudice. She picked up piano seriously only 1 1/2 years ago. Still far from playing at concerts, may be one day...

i'm sure she'll have a wonderful learning journey, with all the support and encouragement you're giving her ~ -
I am looking at a few advertisements on the secondhand Yamaha Lu series (LU90 and LU100 to be exact) piano. They cost between SGD1500 to SGD2500, depending on the manufacturing years.
Is there any difference between Yamaha LU90 and Yamaha LU100? Where can I find information about Yamaha LU series? -
Hi all,
I donโt have high budget, no experience in music and piano. Seriously to me all piano sound and look the same. My girl is going for G1, but Iโm not sure how long she is going to play.
Iโm considering a brandnew Hailun 125cm, as the Jap brand are too costly and taking a 2nd hand is rather risky as I have no experience at all.
Anyone has any review on HaiLun and if its a good buy? -
I would recommend Hailun HL125 to my students. Few competitors can match its quality for the price.

I second that. :boogie: -
:hi5: to Hailun.
We were shopping for a 2nd hand piano until we checked out Hailun. We made 3 trips to Piano Master and Jason was very patient with us and answered all our questions.
We were eventually sold and bought one...but we paid a bit extra for the H5 instead of the HL125. It's been with us for 8 months now, and we think it's money well spent. I know it can't be compared to the European pianos, but at the price it's selling, it's value for money.

Hi markfch, FQW
So envious of your Sauters.
so glad too to find this forum.
We visited Alvin just before he moved out of the VCH and was really tempted.
But my senses prevailed n we went for a second hand schimmel instead.
If I were to upgrade to an upright, would definitely consider the sauter again!
markfch, I share your approach to learning music. Has your son been with the same teacher all through the 4 years? He started really young. How Iโd he learn to read notes?
It was just as well we bought secondhand cos DS only had piano lessons for two months before quitting!
Hoping to get him back. Any advice?
Sorry I may be posting this at the wrong forum. -

think tsunami...nuclear...radiation...? just joking...
from the grapevine (of course other sellers) - the wood used these days are less solid, not as one whole solid piece like years ago. but the yamaha quality is unmistakable - action-wise. Sound quality could vary - and you can't choose the unit you want - it will be randomly assigned and sent from the warehouse. -
