      My son said his teacher have ordered and paid for them first…My Pals Are Here Maths Homework A/B books. Bought this title every year…included in booklist. That’s where his 12 pages of Maths homework came from.

        @peterch, re: "Noteworthy Math"

        Ask him to check at the school bookshop, they should know. Ds’s school is not using but I think Tao Nan is using.

          I remember the advice which mummies who have gone through P5 gave me :Maths is a killer. In fact, not only is Maths a killer but it is another level deeper for all subjects. English is tougher too, for OE comprehension as well as Synthesis & Transformation. To encourage and motivate my boy, I try to accompany him when I set English for him.

          Lots of motivation and encouragement bcos I do find it tougher too…hard to describe but definitely it’s taking up more time analyzing and understanding.

            Last year we had spent a lot of time working in Maths and again this year. The most active forum for subject until now is still the Maths.

              I can sit in the same room when hubby teaches son Maths but totally out of the loop. Hubby bought son one calculator which has 4 lines to do simultaneous equations etc etc. Give up. :stupid:

                  Hi

                  Maybe the reason is especially for Maths, once you don’t understand the question or the concept, you’re stuck in the mud, cannot even move to start working on the solution.

                  For others like English for example, you can always guess an answer.

                  That’s why I guess the outcries from parents in PSLE Maths are always the loudest.

                  Best wishes

                  PS ----- But I find it difficult to learn English. To me, it's a tough subject.

                    I have to read up on Science and Eng to better understand how answers are derived.

                      I am okay with English, Chinese (but not ds), Science but I think my brain has 1-less-screw for Maths. 😢

                      @Brenda, appreciate any links to useful maths thread here ? I tried to read the one on maths problems but my eyes and brains are all crossed. Also looking forward to your dd's feedback about speedmaths camps. I had a quick look at their workbooks and they look tough :!:

                      CA1 timetable is out for us, good chance to find out area of weakness for each subject.

                      @Janet, agree EL difficulty has jumped. S&T is not straightforward, test a lot of grammar foundation.

                        I think my brains doesn't have a single screw for Maths...but the screws for Science, English and Chinese are there, just not tightened.

                        CA1 timetable was out even b4 school reopened. I told my son we need to work hard for it since there is no orals nor compo...can't afford to let it plunge too much.
