In fact, your DD can take sch bus to sch in the morning.
Hi genevieve08,
Thanks for your inputs.
Do they have school bus for secondary???
For band, you have to stay back 3 times a week. Is that 2 weekdays and 1 weekend? Or 3 weekdays? My primary kids currently have to do 1 weekday and 1 weekend for school band. As we are thinking of DSA, I've been \"cautioned\" of band being too time consuming as compared to other CCAs. Personally, I felt that I rather they spend time on band than at some shopping malls after school. In addition, it's good that they have passion for band. It is important to have passion for something.
How do you find the school band so far? Do you happen to know historically how many students they took in via band dsa on a yearly basis? :scratchhead: My kids love their current conductor and he is indeed amazing. The school is blessed to have him. Through him, they also heard positive things about Crescent conductor. During SYF, is band + school work still manageable? -

Hi! That's why it's a \"old girls' school\". As the above post, the school has high level of technology, the environment of the school is serene. Do you know we do our Fitt Run and NAPHA run around the canal? It's wonderful :). For the CCA, I'll PM you when I'm free.Dear All,
As we've not been to Crescent open house. Would like to find out the \"condition\" of the school. From the outside, it looks old, what about the inside? I did see some colorful/ vibrant pics on the school website. Is part of the school renovated?
What about the school band facilities?
What is the \"star\" cca for performing arts in Crescent? -

What is the \"star\" cca for performing arts in Crescent?I'm actually a student at Crescent now, and I would say that the school is actually in a really good condition except the design flooring haha but most secondary schools are actually the same!
The school band facilities are really good and the band has been performing really well! I am currently in Choir, and I would say all the performing arts CCAs are all really good but practices for all CCAs are tough and long hours too. I wouldn't really say there are any star CCAs because I believe every CCA puts in a lot of effort so it depends on what your child likes!
The school's open house will be in October so do drop by then! -
Thanks fadedcolours and genevieve08!
As a parent, it's good to hear happy students speaking up about their school. In addition, some of the information we gathered so far is very positive too eg. the band facilities and condition of band instruments.
My dd is clear that overly competitive environment is not her cup of tea. So far, CGS don't seem to give me this impression. She is also keen on the IT focus in CGS.
We tried out the logistics and it's manageable with the MRT and 111 option.
We've submitted dd's dsa application. Now I am just :xedfingers: that she will be shortlisted for audition. Hopefully one day, I can come to this thread to share about CGS experience as a parent -
Will there be an open house at CGS this year? Any information of the date?
Thanks! -

Hi All,
Just want to ask if Crescent offers IP? If they are, which JC are they connected to?
Thank you so much. -

We went to CGS open house today.
Personally like the principal’s sense of humour and it gave a feeling that the school is indeed the kind of nurturing environment it seek to be. She definitely don’t appear to be those strict, boring principals.
Facilities was better than i expected. Indeed it looked old on the outside (one of the buildings) but the school compound is renovated. Auditorium, dance, interactive, sheltered sports hall, sports field, etc… Didn’t expect to see all these.
The girls were vibrant and happy. The use of technology and it being a future school is impressive. We saw how the sec 1 girls used interactive platforms during science for group disc, etc sure looks like lots of fun.
Having went through the open house today, we are sure this is the place dd wants to spend the next 4 years of her life. The choice is now clear.
