No need. Just wear your home clothes.
Yes, the uniform is quite a problem for some. The boys Bermudas too long, the girls skort too short. Should be the other way right?
One word of advise, please hem the fold on the Bermudas. They tend to sag and look untidy. Also use very very strong thread as this often breaks. One mummy even used fishing line but I just buy best quality thread from Spotlight.
I think you are allowed to enter dorm on first day so do help your kids do a nice cleanup of the room and have a good look of the room he/she will be staying. The school cleaner would have done one round already. You'll not
get to see the room again till July check in.
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all Sporting Parents! -

This is his second son? -
Thks dovetail. One more thing, do we have to bring all the files we bought and all exercise and textbooks on the first check in day?
Is a sling bag approporiate as a school bag to lug around in school during lesson time? -
Hi parentof3,
Best to leave all school books and stationery in the dorm with your child.
As for bags, itโs up to his style preference. -
Just got to know that no ankle socks are allowed. Any other restrictions on the socks like colour and brand?
Btw any chance that their clothes will be sorted wrongly in the laundry?
Will their uniform be iron as I can see that the skote is easily crampled. -
I'm not taking any chances - I'm labelling EVERYTHING that belongs to my ds including his underwear...
Even if the laundry's sorted, I foresee that he would have clothes and things mixed up with his room-mates... and as there are 6 boys in his Academy, he'll definitely be in a 6-bedder, and 6 boys without their Mums... -

Ankle socks means those that get hidden in the shoes. My ds say he saw some wearing coloured ones. He usually uses white. Shoes can be any type/colour.
Laundry:
Will be given 2 laundry bags and a laundry locker key. I suggest you go duplicate a set of this key as backup since it's quite cheap.
Clothes do get sorted wrongly sometime. Laundramat will use marker to write her locker number on the clothe label for their sorting purpose. Any clothe that goes to them with no number they will base on the laundry bag number to label it.
I also label all my boy's clothes except undies. but after a while, I find that
the number they put on the label is quite good enough. I still label his more expensive clothes and all training/comeptition jerseys For really good clothings, I suggest you ask her to bring home to wash or Handwash herself. There are washing machines and dryer provided for them too in the dorm.
One good quality iron on label your can try is from http://www.stuckonyou.com. It's Aussie made but they have office here. Take 2 weeks turnaround.
So mummies, it'll be hard the first week. Keep yourself busy so you don't worry too much or miss her/him too badly. You've fussed about him/her for so many years and suddenly he is not there, you feel there's a void. Weekend will always be sweeter then before fron now on. -
Will they be assign dorm according to academy? What if there are 7 gals in the same academy?
-
A House Master told me that they will be assigned a dorm based on Academy where possible. This is to facilitate the kids' morning training, so that they won't disturb the kids who don't have morning trainings when those that do wake up.
The dorms are either 4-bedders or 6-bedders. A 7-person might be split up 3-4 or 6-1... but for girls, it's more likely 3-4 because they don't have a bed shortage like the boys.
