Q&A - P3 Science

Thanks, jedamum!
Dr Google is a good friend of mine too, but I phrased my question as
\"why mango has one seed\" (DD's original question) and couldn't find
anything. Should have generalized it to \"fruit\". :slapshead: -

(1)A only
(2) C only
(3)A and C only
(4)B and C only
Good Morning.
If I remember correctly, P3 students learned that non flowering plants like ferns are reproduced from spores. Also, mushrooms, moulds are reproduced from spores.
So, this rules out (2), (3) and (4)
The answer is (1).
Best wishes -

Hmm...But P3 syllabus never taught the children that the spores are light and small, right? So my answer will be (4)B and C only.

Which one is correct??[/quote]Tianzhu is right that both non-flowering plants and fungi reproduce by spores (covered in syllabus). Even if the children are not 'officially' taught that spores are light & small, they should arrive at answer (1) using elimination method. -
Found this in Google
spore (spôr)
1. A usually one-celled reproductive body that can grow into a new organism without uniting with another cell. Spores are haploid (having only a single set of chromosomes). Fungi, algae, seedless plants, and certain protozoans reproduce asexually by spores. Plant spores that are dispersed by the wind have walls containing sporopollenin.
I guess the answer has to be A & C, number 3 -

Spores are also found in fungi (eg. gills of mushrooms).Found this in Google

However, option C : 'They are only found in non-flowering plants'.
Hence, how can C be true? -

Ok, looks like must read the textbook again.
Thank you for all the answers.
Yes, I agree the answer should be (1) since the word "only" is used in option B and C. -
