Sounds like too late to arrange for any CIP work. What would happen if she is going to be short of 1 hour? Can she make up for it next year?

The minimum for her is 7 hours this year. I understand different school has different minimum CIP hours. Don't understand how it works. So confusing to be a parent these days. Luckily for me, the school allowed extension of time to submit the CIP card. In the end, I managed to get a CIP lobang for my daughter to do at a community club for 3 hours. Now, my daughter obtained 9 hours this year. Quite difficult for parents to arrange CIP on our own. Anyone knows how many CIP Hours need to be done in 4 years to gain maximum advantage? She told me 100 hours in 4 years, so much meh?

              What is considered CIP work?

If someone can list it, then easier for us to help.

I suppose anything to do with volunteering. eg. Help out in RC, community, charity, library duties etc…

What my dd1 did was she actually went to the library to ask for duties. They usually accomodate students and give them dates to do book arranging duties.

Another was when the RC needed packers for the Tsunami donations, I brought her in than got a letter from RC chairman to certify that she had done so many hours of work etc…

For quick and short duties, I think library is best. Any library.

I also never heard of it until dd is Sec. Its some come of community work you have to perform. In dd's school, by collecting and donate those can drinks opening part (don't know what is it call, we have to use our finger to open the can drink, that thingy  ) also can earn CIP hours. CCA also have separate CIP hours to clock. Eg. of CIP work done, clean the beach, help out in old age homes, library work, voluntary work in some kind of event organise by the museum.

Usually in their class, they have two reps would arrange CIP programs. Teachers would help if the students really unable to find.

I think CIP hours is impt for Sec school (was told by my DD that she needs 100 hours during the 4 yrs). Some of her friends go to the local library to clock the time. My DD is picking up rubbish in East Coast this Saturday.

Also, she has intend to go overseas to help during Year 3 to clock the required hours.
