my child is still dancing at age 12 (many of her peers have given up), so the question I would ask myself is - is this going to make her a professional performer, or is this going to benefit her in cultivating discipline that lasts till life. a good teacher, in my opinion, is someone who brings out the best in you. She has had merits so far in her many RAD exams from pre-pri to grade 5, perhaps 1 distinction, but it has never bothered us as the benefits of the passion and discipline instilled is much more beneficial than the awards. Don’t let the results bother you, that’s my advice. Dance those little toes away!

Based on my limited knowledge, usually the ballet teacher will recommend a route based on their own assessment which path is more suitable for you. However, I also come across 1 or 2 who do both grade 6 and IF concurrently as advised / required by their teachers. Maybe have a talk with your teacher to get a better view?

Take concurrently. Instead of 2x/weekly, you will need to do 3x/weekly.

My dd takes both, just completed Intermediate Foundation Exam in Aug and now preparing for grade 7 where exam will be on next Apr.
