I understand from my 6 years old daughter's ballet teacher that my gal is going to take CSTD syllabus for her Pre-primary ballet exam in Nov 2013 this year. May I ask for comments on what can I expect and how can I go about preparing her on top of what her ballet teacher is teaching her?

There is no need to so any additional preparation; in fact unless you are trained in ballet I would say it is better not to!

For me, I don't think I need to prepare her anything on top of what her ballet teacher is teaching her because I'm not a professional to see if she is doing a right move (although I have some ballet training when I was young (till Gr.5) but I still won't do that).

I would just remind her to do stretching everyday, do her moves, gives her confident. That's what I will do. I guess confident will be the great help that you can give. My two cent worth 😉

Hi Sembgal, my only advice is to ask your girl to smile and dance confidently. Enjoyment is key at their age.

Tips I learnt from my gal’s ballet teacher…good to bring extra shoes, stocking, leotard, belt if you have…if your shoes are worn out, try to get a new pair 2-3 weeks before exam…and yes, smile adds bonus to the score…

I did not prep my gal for her past ballet exams…cos I know nuts about ballet…haha…can;t tell if she is doing the steps correctly. I trust that her ballet teacher would have given her adequate guidance for the exam…her teacher provided the dance DVD for us to watch and practise at home…but I never play the disc cos we do not have a player at home.

Try OKH? It's at Tanglin Shopping Center.

I usually order through my child's ballet teacher. She will take measurement and helped to buy. If it doesn't fit, she will exchange for me. Save my time when I get ballet teacher to help me with purchase order. My child has to get a new set of ballet attire and shoes as she experienced growth spurt this year.
