Great sharing, Schweppes.
Getting motivated, but...
But I have a \"non- green thumb\"
As a child, the plants i planted hardly survived, while those thta my bro planted thrived. My grandma said it is becaus of my heaty body, whne i touch the plants it weakened them.
So should i venture or not ? :stupid: -
adoi...schweppes jie..after reading this thread..I'm also motivated to try again on planting pandan leaves, chilli, lime...etc
但是,我每种一盆,死一盆...
对那些无辜的盆栽很过意不去...
Any advise to improve my gardening skills? -

Another club in the making?
So far only succeeded in growing pandan & lemon grass. A LOT of pandan & lemon grass. Used to have chilli padi but keep getting a lot of white flies on them. Tried planting papaya as well but everytime it grows to a certain size the monkeys will come and pick all the leaves off!
Never knew that sunflower will thrive in our climate. I am waiting to redo my garden. This time I will have a herb plot. Maybe will try planting some sunflowers. -

I used to grow papaya tree too but decided to uproot it when it grew too tall and huge because I planted it in the middle of no where and it looked odd. Didn't plan when I first planted it. -
I refrain from growing chillis as I think it'll attract birds, though I'm surprised birds can take chilli.

Dunno where they come from but was told to use neem oil. But cos I intend to eat the chilli padi I am not comfortable using neem oil even though they say it is save so long as we don't spray the plant like 2 days b4 harvest and wash the chilli well. The other thing I did was mount some sticky traps on sticks and stuck them around the soil among my plants. I cut up those sticky lizard traps into smaller pieces and mounted them on twigs.

Actually kinda grew the lemongrass accidentally. Bought some and left them out for some time. When I wanted to use them saw that some of them have sprouted roots so told my helper to go plant them.Funz, lemongrass is a good idea. Maybe I should plant one too. I think you can try getting some fresh lemongrass from the market, peel of the outer layers then stick it in some water for about a week or so until it sprout roots.
Warning though, they grow like weeds. I kept giving pandan and lemongrass away but they keep growing and growing. -
