The essential Parents' guide to Primary Sci

Its a guide book to parents to gain practical knowledge and skills so they can help the children better. According to the book there are 4 sections.

      Janet...hope it helps............

sorry I couldn scan a sample page cos I got a stone-age pC at the mo....nt
      Hi plum-cake πŸ’‹ ,
Thanks for helping to explain and type out the contents of the book! :salute: :salute:

      Hi Janet,
I unable to scan the book as my scanner is \" \" lioa so I take a few pic for you to see; hope it helps πŸ˜„ http://i52.tinypic.com/4r2d12.jpg\"> http://i55.tinypic.com/295twus.jpg\"> http://i53.tinypic.com/1rb6sn.jpg\">

Feel that this book is more for parents to read as it points out to us how we can equip ourselves with practical knowledge and skills to help our children.

But there is one part at \"Section 4 - Choosing Useful Science Resources\". (The 3rd picture above) I extract the part at Page 34 which I give it a benefit of doubts and have a :scratchhead: after reading......

.....Here are some tips to help your child make wise choices for the type of Science Resources that your child needs......

      1) The textbooks and related learning materials, for example activity books and workbooks that you child use in school are sufficient to meet the learning objective of the Primary Science syllabus. Hence it is all right if you choose not to buy extra Science book for your child to study.

      .............................

      3) If your objective is to help your child revise and practise what he learns in school and prepare for examinations, you may buy pupils' resource materials, such as revision books, study guides and assessment books.

:imcool: :imcool: When I look again on point 1, I was like,\" :? the textbooks and workbooks/activity books are sufficient??\" Then coming to point 3 ( I skip point 2 as it states Science magazine, etc.) which I blurted out to myself,\" :imcool: This is the real scenario that is happening!\"

I flipped through this book at popular last week. Except for part 4, I don't find the rest of the section useful, all common sense, nothing we parents didn't already know. But answering technique is not an easy skill to learn by merely reading part 4. If so easy, then section B won't be killer leow. But I only flipped through very briefly. May warrant a second look before further comments

by the way Its up to P6..

          Thank you.
          Hi plum-cake,
Thanks for letting us know what that Parents' guide is all about... :snuggles: saved me a trip to IMM.
Hubby told me about some $5 voucher at Popular Bras Basah...but I don't fancy the idea of going there...very much prefer IMM.

For parents who have kids in upper primary, that book won't be useful...we have been tried and tested by the schools' CA/SA. πŸ˜‰
It's better to go through the exam papers to have a real FEEL. Section B is a killer section...those 1-2 marks are not easy to get.

Yes, KEYWORDS very important. BTW, I bought that Science guidebook yesterday...the tips provided at the back gave an insight regarding Science exam...if there are 3 marks for that question, then student has to write at least 3 points and 75% of the 3 lines provided. I was reading it when kids went swimming. Those KEYWORDS are IMPORTANT than any grandfather's story.
              Thanks for the recommendation :lovesite:

                      Hi Champion

This is the only guide book that I bought as it is not too thick and easier to digest.
