Is it anyone can register to sit for these math tests on your own as well? Any idea?

My son (in one of those GEP schools) was only given these application forms in P6 year only, not earlier - all students were given. Altho' those in the GEP were probably asked to take in p4, & p5 as well. -

All participants must be born between 2 Jan 1997 and 1 Jan 1998, both dates inclusive, or Primary 6 students born after 1 Jan 1998.
Everyone can only take SMOPS once.
If your own school never register your child, you can register your child at certain tuition centres but your child must satisfy the above condition. (12 years old or below 12 years old but p6 this year) -

Yeah there are many maths competitions now but the more prestigious ones for primary schools are:
1) SMOPS
2) NMOS
3) RIPMWC
These are the local ones.
For overseas ones, the more prestigious ones are
1) Gauss contest (by University of Waterloo)
2) Australian Maths competition
3) American Maths competition
All these are for primary schools only. In secondary and higher, there are others like SMO (Junior, Senior, Open), New south wales exam etc... -

Hi, if the criteria is the TOTAL number of awards received by a school, then the 10th school (or should it be at 9th position?) would be Ai Tong School with 16 awards - Gold, Silver and Bronze. But they don't have any Platinum. Also not a GEP school. For info only.I am curious where my kid's school stand so I went to do the statistics so might as well share with KSP like-minded parents of the top ten schools... :celebrate:

The Chart I prepared was based on number of platinums only. Certainly there could be many different views of Top Ten. This was only a KPO exercise I did for my own personal analysis which I thought to share with all since I had done it.
