when i first saw this thread, i was amused it has 243pgs, the highest hit!

It’s not advisable to have a clash with her…so the best thing is to keep arms length. This way, life is sweeter…‘hi’ and ‘bye’ once a while since it’s not ever possible to have any conversation other than the weather. Any more than that, she will get on my nerves.

My bro's got a gf now and I keep reminding my mum:
PLEASE DON'T BE THE CRAZY, IDIOTIC, STUPID, MORONIC, IRRITATING, PESKY MIL!
And I keep reminding myself:
I must be the best SIL in the world so my bro's gf won't have to suffer!
Thankfully, all is well so far. My bro's gf does not like my bro 'sponging off' me all the time so she's voiced out that he will take turns to pay when we go out. So, she took us out to Universal Studios the other day.
I think it takes alot of effort to maintain a relationship.
DILs can put in alot of effort but if MIL don't put in the same amount of effort, then DIL like banging the wall.
As a DIL, I put in my effort but I bang my head. Still banging but what to do? Just continue lor. At least I only need to see them on *IMPORTANT OCCASIONS*. And they conveniently forget my existence, so, a pat on my back!

WHERE DILs and MILs cant see eye to eye, BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO DONT STAY WITH THEIR MILS UNDER ONE ROOF!
That’s why this verse: when a man marries a woman, they two leave their parents and become one…(that’s how i interpret) -

TOTALLY AGREE!!! Not only lock your main gate and door, next time lock your bedrooms also before you go away. If MIL asks, just tell her that it's for security reasons cos you are afraid there is a break-in and you have lots of valuables in the house.

Yes... and don't forgot to leave some water and biscuits for your MIL in case she grows hungry  -

Hey, MIL won't go hungry when I go abroad. I will load up the fridge & the food cabinet before I go. There would also be that dh's money around for her to use (when she needs it). Yeah maybe next time I should consider locking up that bedroom door before I leave. However, she would bother me with a lot of \"why, why...why\" before & after I come back. Then she would say that I have stuff that is *jian bu de guang* in the room. After that, she would go blah blah blah to my mother. Then she said, next time don't go overseas with my dh without bringing ds along. Why can't she understand that I need private time with dh too? :stupid: :stupid: :x :xtutormum:
