Most mil who favour one son will reserve all the good food for him, maybe the bank account is also in his name. But when it comes to running errants, they'll get other children to do it, cos they don't want to trouble the favourite one. Have heard of many such cases.

Me. And I had to eat these leftovers even when I was preggie and living with her...

        PrincessAriel:
*glup* I don't know how many people have MIL having overnight food heat up and eat the next day?

So true! My MIL always asks DH (her less favored son) to fetch her to airport whenever she goes for holidays, not her favorite son. And she even gets her maid to wash and iron my BIL's work clothes even though they also have a maid.

Next day? Next few days sometimes...... :scared:
I know my MIL not too happy with me, but I would only let my kids consume leftover from previous day, anything beyond, I'll forbid. My poor DH used to stuff himself so that the rest of us dun have to continue eating those dishes for the next 1-2 days. But think he has 开窍 (gained enlightenment), these days after 1-2 days, he'll dump them away

Just curious, does your MIL like to thaw, freeze, rethaw, freeze, rethaw again?
Mine does....despite telling her repeatedly it'll get contaminated, she ignored.
Used to skip her prawns too cos' always soft and soggy despite MIL protest that she bought fresh prawns. After she shifted in, I realised it's due to her bad habit of thaw-refreeze-rethaw. And when I started to get soft-watery stool 2-3 times a day, I practically eat very little every day (but then I end up snacking other stuff lah). And she thot I was dieting.....

Cook, freeze, reheat, freeze and reheat leads to food poisoning. Reheat from last night still ok, but no more than that please.

Speaking of mid-autumn festival, do your MILs drop any hints what brands they want to eat ? In the past, I used to get a box for her from Hang Heung, then ask hubby to deliver it. She must have irritated him by talking rubbish and he is reluctant to deliver it…so this year, I bochap.

This is place where I come to vent when I meet MIL. She just came over to my house to

give me some mooncake. She said it was the best mooncake that one of my SIL bought
for her and she kept looking around and when she saw some mooncake that we had
bought, she said, \"Aiyo, you have so nice mooncake yourself, I should not have
bought this mooncake, I thought maybe you don't know how to buy mooncake because
I never get any from you so I come all the way here to give you.\" :stompfeet:

Very pek chek and she just drops in unannounced as if she wants to check
                  up on me.

And she also asked me to serve her the mooncake that we had bought for some

guests coming over this weekend. Aiya…I really very pek chek, sorry to rant and
rave but she sometimes makes me boil!! She also asked me why am I on my laptop
and not cleaning the place. All asked in very civil and puzzled tones.

Dont worry. Understand your frustrations like dropping by unannounced. Thank goodness I stay on opposite side of island and hubby told her I am not at home. Anyway, she is the type who wants to be ferried everywhere..so I'm not worried she will drop by.

Thanks Janet, I feel better knowing that I have an online community that is a form

                        of outlet for me.

Wish my MIL is like that- must be ferried around. My MIL takes taxi to and fro. Quite
independent in that way, but not so good for me.
