Need help from experienced mummies here…DS is not strong in MT so chinese oral is a struggle. We did picture discussion but it will not take long for him to forget almost everything 1) chinese name for the place 2) descriptive words about the people and happenings 3) Thoughts and opinions of what happened.


How do you organise the notes and drill them into your children? DS is taking psle next year, I am afraid whatever we do this year will be forgotten by next year!

I felt that school rules are not easy to talk about... It can be quite wide and differs among schools.... :scared:

My son told me the examiner asked him which school rule he likes/doesn't like. He told me the 校规 he doesn't like is teacher doesn't allow them to go to the loo after recess...he told the examiner, recess is too short as he has to queue and after eating, there isn't time to go to the loo. Now I am thinking what will be tested for Eng tomorrow.

You have to speak Chinese to him more often at home so that he will be more comfortable with the language. It will also help him with the conversation component.

DD said Chinese Oral reading passage today is on shoes.


Picture discusssion is on road safety. There is a man climbing over a railing to cross the road (even though there is an overhead bridge nearby). A lady with a child is pointing to the man. The picture also shows a van, a car and a motorcycle. There are also some passengers (a Malay lady and an Indian lady) trying to board a bus.

The conversation is about 1 school rule that you like and 1 that you dislike. The topic does not seem to be related to the passage or the picture.
