Need help from experienced mummies here...DS is not strong in MT so chinese oral is a struggle. We did picture discussion but it will not take long for him to forget almost everything 1) chinese name for the place 2) descriptive words about the people and happenings 3) Thoughts and opinions of what happened.


How do you organise the notes and drill them into your children? DS is taking psle next year, I am afraid whatever we do this year will be forgotten by next year!

You have to speak Chinese to him more often at home so that he will be more comfortable with the language. It will also help him with the conversation component.

Thank you, Mummy so kiasu. I see some KSP mentioned here about the oral booklet that school prepare for practice. I have not seen one yet but would you think that is suffice?

My child had Chinese oral today. No need to check student pass. Entry proof seems to be for other languages such as French.


He said quite easy as the examiners smiled listening to him. Yes, seems that the topics (read aloud / picture discussion / conversation) are not related. I didn’t dare to ask more… Hope that tomorrow’s session will be easy.

My dd admitted that she got panic attacks in the initial reading of passage. Luckily she managed to calm herself down quickly and breezed through her pic and conversation. One down and many more challenges ahead.

I had panic attack :nailbite: accompanying my son just now, while he glanced thru his Eng oral It's because it is EL 2moro which is worrying me...just hope he will not stammer and be down to earth when it comes to picture discussion.

Try to keep a calm face (even though inside us we are worried about them). I just let my dd rattled happily at whatever she felt like talking this morning... Yes, when she is nervous, she talks a lot. So I take it as a warm up for her Oral lor...

I believe in general, English should be easier to tackle compared to CL .. What do you think ?

Hi happyheart, school usually will compile some useful Oral notes for the P5 & P6 kid’s to prepare them for PSLE Oral. You can get additional materials from Popular bookstore. You can also get the notes from friends/relatives after their kid’s PSLE.
