3D = 4C
15D = 20C
5D + 6C -> 76
15D + 18C -> 228
20C + 18C -> 228
38C -> 228
1C -> $6 -

Alice 's money=1/3 Betsy and Doris = 1/4 of total sum of money
(Alice --> 1 part, Betsy and Doris --> 3 parts, total --> 4 parts)
1-1/4 - 5/12 = 4/12 = 1/3
Doris had 1/3 of the total sum of money
5/12 (Betsy's money) - 3/12 (Alice's money) = 2/12 = 1/6
1/6 of total sum of money --> $30
Total sum of money --> $180

If Tom gives $11 to Stan, Stan would have $ 266 + $ 11 x 2 = $ 288 more than Tom
Tom --> 3 units
Stan --> 11 units
8 units --> $ 288
Total --> 14/8 x $ 288 = $504
Using cross-multiply method:
Tom's money --> 1 unit
Stan's money --> 1 unit + $ 266
If Tom gives $11 to Stan,
Tom's money : Stan's money
--> 1 unit - $ 11 : 1 unit + $277
= 3 : 11
Cross multiply :
11 unit - $ 121 = 3 units + $831
8 units --> $952
1 unit --> $119
Total amount of money --> 2 units + $ 266 = $504
cheers.
