Any KS mummies have kids with Southview? Can share more abt the school in terms of the school, principal, teachers, curriculum etc etc.
Much thanks! -
our daughter is joining SW next year. This saturday is the orientation. If you want, I can share the info gathered after the orientation.
For now, if I’m not mistaken, the VP has just been changed. Used to be a guy, now, a lady. -

the principal is a 'singing' principal - loves to sing. She actually perform a song written to welcome us to the Southview family. Besides off-key here and there, i tot it was a very great effort by her.

Quite impressed with the school achievements. A lot of media coverage was done on their success.
VP sounds strict and firm - which is a good thing (i think)
The school niche is arts (perfoming, visual, media) -
Hi zyberk,
Ya the most impressive part is on their consistent good academic performance though it's a neighbourhood school. Checked their web and realised they change uniforms as well.
Hubby still prefers this school as he is an ex student so in a way we are guaranteed a place there but I prefer an all girls school...sigh really quite torn now. Hmm still hv one more year for me to be on this roller coaster before I need to firm up one. -
Indeed South View is blessed with good principals and vice-principals who are well-liked by the pupils. In fact, the current principal, Mrs Yeo is a very kind and compassionate lady. This year, students in the Foundation programme were given the opportunity to go to Kuching after the PSLE. She has a heart even for students who are less academically inclined.
The school also has good Chinese teachers, two of whom, won the Most Inspiring Chinese Teacher's award. My son has been fortunate to have been taught by both of them.
My son's teacher is very hardworking and prepares the class very well for the PSLE. She is one who understands the needs of the pupils and tries to bring out their potential and strengths. But, the child must be prepared to do lots of homework.
All in all, both my children love the school and I am so thankful for the decision I made years ago.

saw the principal’s photo in the website. Ya, indeed she looks passionate and kind lady. And am suprised it churns out 4 students with more than 278. -
yeah … seems ‘unreal’ … SV sounds &/ looks more like and elite school rather than a neighborhood school …

Hello, does anyone place their child in De La Salle Primary School at CCK? Would appreciate if you can share some information about the school.
