Hi timtamfan! Nice to meet you!
I thought of sending my child to NAFA too but logistically, not a viable option for us. And the thought of queuing overnightHow long has your daughter been there? And any reason why getting a place at NAFA is so competitive?
And out of curiosity (or just being plain kaypoh...), any reason why your two children attend separate Primary schools? -

Not so bad until overnight but it was quite long queue (I think about 2-3hrs). Wasn't prepared then so now I try to tell everyone who's interested. Luckily younger boy got in without Q (like Phase 1).
DD was in the program since P1 (now she's P6 Advanced 2). She took a break at P4 bcos she was not enjoying class (different teachers engaged children differently, and the curriculum then was skewed towards painting which was not her thing). Now she has no issues and happily goes to class. I guess she's older and given more freedom(?). I find the curriculum very rounded and they expose the kids to a few different art techniques within the year.
BTW, the 1.5hr around Bugis area passes very quickly. We usually hang out at NLB or Bras Basah. -
Hello again Eastenders Mummies & Daddies! How was everyone’s CNY?? Any stories to share??

Hi all,
from
Katonger here. I have brought my family back from Perth and my child is having difficulty adjusting to the life in Singapore. I am looking for other parents who are willing to let my daughter join their children in playgroups. She is currently 7 years old in primary 2 studying in Katong.
I know the concept is foreign here for kids their age to have playgroups, but it is a common practise in Australia as it helps them to learn social skills and social behaviour outside of the classroom environment.
I am not for specific enrichment classes to quantify her social skills, I just her to have her fun during her childhood. Does anyone here willing to let our kids play together. -
Hi jadekungfu! Nice to meet you!
My daughter is 4 this year and probably a little young to play meaningfully with your child at this point.
Most schools in Sg have Parent Support Groups. Perhaps you could join your daughter's school's PSG? This way, you could get to know other parents and hopefully, more play opportunities will come up. -
Hi Everyone!
Been reading this website for the past six months and have learnt a lot about the process of P1 registration. I have two kids and DD will be entering P1 next year(phase 3 as we are only EP holders)but we have just taken an apartment in Pasir Ris just north of Changi Airport. Am wondering if anyone can help out with a kindergarten for K2 that has vacancies for DD near Loyang Ave that has a good Mandarin program and won’t cost an arm and a leg.It seems many are full and we won’t have a car, just relying on buses and MRT. I appreciate any assistance you may provide, thankyou! -
