      Thank you.

I mentioned IRS is more time consuming.

IVP is group work. Reasonable workload.

[/quote]Lenny, IVP is mostly individual work (only some cases it is a 2 person team). IvP is more a team work. More hands share out the work may be less time consuming, and usually IvP the teacher will have regular timeslot to coach and guide the kids.

I think the kid should be allowed to choose the school he / she wants to go. Reason being they are going to study there for the next 3 years, so it is important they are not going to be unhappy in a parent's preferred school. In addition, GEP syllabus being a stretched one, it is not easy for the kid to cope with additional academic requirements plus a drastic change in environment - may be a good idea to keep the transition change of environment to a minimal impact so that the kid can concentrate more on the additional academic demands.

Especially for case whereby the kid has strong view on what they want - it's best to respect their view, unless you manage to convince him / her to change this view with very good valid reason that they concur with. In such cases, best for parents to act as advisory board, unless you think the decision will cause great harm to the kid. In case of choosing GEP school, doubt it can go very wrong as most GEP schools are of good standard, esp. if I am right in guessing the 2 schools you are referring to πŸ˜‰
Yes, I agree with you. Initially my friend told me she was deciding which GEP schools her child will go to but I reminded her that it will be the child who goes to school, not her, the mother. She has to involve the child in the selection process too, not only think about sending to the top GEP schools in Singapore. I'm glad she took her child to the different schools to view the environment and listen to the child's point of view.

Think you meant IRS there. Btw, what does DI stand for?

            Hi,

Would like to hear from GEP parents if they encountered a situation when it comes to choosing GEP centre, parent and child both have different views.

Parent's first choice could be the nearest centre (SAP school, co-ed).
However, DC is only willing to transfer to a single gender and non-SAP school (similar to DC's current school environment).

Can the parent's view prevail? Or should the child be allowed to have his/her way?
            Congrats, LY. :rahrah:

Hi, do all GEP schools have after school care? TIA!

Rgps don't have after school care

                      other GEP schools :
can ask them, at their respective school thread

Catholic High School does not have after-school care.
