Lunch today is going to be really simple. Chicken soup with pickled mustard, plain tofu and tomatoes. All in one pot.

How did you get your boy to eat pumpkin? Mine doesn't even touch pumpkin.
He doesnt like porridge. Prefers heavy flavoured food. Just like DH.

              What's Chinese apricot?

Vinegar, your menu usually so healthy. No wonder you can wear bare-back tops. :salute:

                    Buds,

You made the sambal yourself or there is some brand which you can recommend us? Mouth watering…

Can buy ready-made sambal tumis from any indian or malay stalls at the neighbourhood market, add in the veg (tau kwa : diced-cut, tempeh, long beans), optional prawns, sugar, salt and a tinge of ikan bilis stock. 😄 When cooked at home can go for seconds. At the stalls will be quite ex for complete meal. 😞 We are surviving on single income, so it is penny-wise to eat (more) from home.

Spicy coconut gravy just needs :

                        Saute Mix
                        Large yellow onions (sliced)
Lemongrass (sliced or just cut in three parts)
Most importantly, lemongrass must be crushed.

                        Blended Mix
                        Red onions
                        Shallots
                        Green cili padi

                        Others
                        Kara coconut milk
                        Sugar
                        Salt
                        Ikan bilis stock

Just a wee bit of oil, then throw in the sauté mix... once aroma fills the kitchen... put in the blended mix... followed by the 'others' ingredients. This same gravy can use for fish or chicken or whatever you fancy really. Thickness of gravy depends on your preference. You like it thick less water.. prefer lighter gravy use more water.. and if on a diet can swap coconut milk to just any carton milk of your choice; full cream or low-fat doesn't matter.
