Haha! Thanks pen88n and vlim.
How are you kids settling into their new schools? Fun and exciting times ahead.
Kids are adapting to their new sch environment and sec sch life now - more subjects, longer hours, more CCA commitment, travelling by themselves
Parents here are also learning to let go
Let's see how they \"swim\" over time :imcool:

Ahh...so your nephew is in sec 1 too. Welcome to this thread. We're all here to learn from one another and at times, to de-stress as well.
Hehehe! Cool... i'm more concern about how he is going thru sec 1 life is indeed an eye opener compare to primary sch life.... and turning into a teenage boy real soon.I hope He is adapting well in school with the books that weight a ton...
Care to share with us which school your nephew is in? Doesn't his school have lockers so that he does not need to lug his heavy books to and fro? -

How cool is that! Was it iniated by parents? or the school? It'll be great for exchange of information among parents. Seem ACSI parents are more sociable and willing to take initiative.
We have a private facebook group for the parents from his class. Good to get information and news.
They will be having an extra day of holiday on 25/1 for CNY. Apparently this is an ACSI tradition. So may take that in mind when planning future CNY holidays. -

vlim, I am suddenly reminded of the days prior to the release of PSLE results!
Colour the hair, go for mani and pedi, and your mud facial at Sungei Buloh!

The facebook group idea is a good one. How did all the parents manage to exchange contacts?
Hi Vlim, my DS is enjoying himself in ACSI.vlim:
Hi ngbrdad !
How is your ds in ACS!.. He must be busy and enjoying himself there?... Cny coming ... Time to relax a little bit..
We have a private facebook group for the parents from his class. Good to get information and news.

How is your ds getting on in RI ? -
MummySTay:
Nah, lockers are meant to keep things the kids don't want the parents to see, so not much use to reduce the bag load. DS always say he need to use all the books and material in his bag everyday, so there is only an increase in bag load, never reduction until I do a \"pasar malam\" on him. Now in Secondary school, cannot do liao.

How do you know your DS hides things that he does not want you to see in his school lockers?
Sounds like you've been there and done that, eh?
Care to share with us what you used to hide in your lockers?
