Just came back from DS school with the yellow envelop. Thought have to wait till next week for result, as round 1 result was made known very late for his school. His FT was kind to call once she got the notice from GEB.

Not sure what u mean. Came back w yellow envelope means Get in GEP.
:congrats:
So when u mention results..do they actually give u a score? -

I thgt there is no waiting list in GEP?
Oh, not selected also got \"small envelope\"?Lock:
My DS is from Rulang. He told me the weirdest news. A few of his classmates got the notification that they were not selected into GEP, then there are a few others who did not receive anything and his FT said that those who did not receive anything today are on waiting list :?
Anyone here has similar encounter?

Just called the General Office. DS got selected but I am undecided. There are only 2 schools I have in mind; ACS and NYPS. I am thinking to give up GEP and remain in Rulang if he's not posted to any of the two.
Congratulation! So how many got selected for GEP in Rulang this year? Are they all from the two top classes? -

to share some experience - my daughter is in p5 gep class, P6 next year. The course is every enriching. It stretches their thinking and test their maturity. class size is small, 20 to 25. P4 is ok, but they need to adapt as there is no more spoon feeding like main stream teaching. Parents need to help the child to adapt and encourage them not to give up. P5 is the real test, time management is important. PSLE is not focus. They only start preparing some time in May for PSLE. If all goes smoothly, most GEP student should be offered an IP school of their choice during DSA, as their selection is handled differently.

Thanks ftdaddy for your insights…it is great to hear from someone whose child is going through GEP. Can I clarify the following:
- you mentioned they start preparing for PSLE in May- you mean May of P5 or May of P6?
- so all GEP kids can get into the school of their choice via DSA? Does prelim results or PSLE results count too?
- what about higher chinese (HC)? Is that the regular HC syllabus or GEP has another type of chinese? As it is, NYPS higher chinese is not easy, kids have to work hard to do well, what is it like in GEP?
- I guess your child is quite self-motivated? How to you teach your child to handle failure or doing less well (I am assuming in a GEP class, many kids can consistent do well, so we need to teach our kids to handle situations where they do not do so well)
Thank you so much for your insights… -

No result attached. Only letter for GEP registration, notice to attend briefing at NUS High and some brochures.NotKiasu:
