      Yalor… got a friend, "non-combat fit", but can run 2.4km in like… under 10 mins?

        one third of 2nd generation PRs leave here before being call up for NS.

        Heard their PR once expired are not likely to be renewed, but not sure how true it is. So nowadays many come here to join our uni on students pass since there is a Asean rate for them and stay with their relative who are PR here. After getting their degree and found a job here then they start to apply for a PR, to by-pass NS. But if they get a PR first, and leave for oversea to avoid NS they may not get the PR approval in future. Some join our sec school also choose to be on students pass to by-pass NS.

        I know of Malaysian family who opt to have the mother and daughter join as citizen while father and son continue to be PR .

        You see citizen do not have such a choice leh.

          That's true.. i think most PR would not want to do NS. Oh well, we are true sg citizens and that makes it a natural reason for our guys to serve the NS.
