Sometimes, it's really not 'the more the merrier'. When there is talk on who are pure, it does look ugly. Even if Sir Stamford Raffles settles in Singapore, his descendants are not pure. Their country of origin is not Singapore but England.

just let them reveal how ugly they are or how narrow they wish to be, as long as it is not you ...... everyone is entitled to their own thoughts.....and in these great sharing of mind and thoughts, who knows, by your own generosity and open mindedness, you may have made a positive impact on the other poster's mind / mental process, and you could have changed life by your positive sharings ....

if you censor it, the opposing views may not get aired and could have resulted in tangible negative actions being taken by them based on the narrow thinking ?

My takes in this simple analogy…don’t flame me if you disagreed.


When i invite my guests to my home, i welcome them with basic necessity which is basic courtesy in feeling warmth in my family, provision of drinks and food. If need to sleepover, then i will provide guest room. I will provide the best i can in my own capacity…of course not go to the extend of welcoming them to my master bedroom. Of course no way will i shove my guest to a corner. That wouldn’t be right.

Today, PR already not in equal footing with SC in terms of health, education and housing. And hence i feel that is already enough. Just recently the education policy kicks in affecting PR with almost immediate effect left me with mixed feelings, especially more so towards PR who have PV. Although i am happy for SC in general but this immediate change makes me rather uncomfortable. I am a true SC but i am a mother myself. All mum wants the best for their children.

My takes and my humble opinion. This thread and also the other thread are becoming ugly to me. Why? People starts to be irresponsible with all sort of name callings, personal attacks and labelling. Is this what we are encouraging people to surface their ugliness? I thought this is a platform for CIVIL discussion and airing and sharing of views?

It is not just so simple about…as quote "everyone is entitled to their own thoughts". It is also not about keeping things under wrap and hush hush.
It is all about airing your thoughts in civil manner and to retaliate in civil manner. I really wonder do you speak to your boss like that or is it okay to speak under a cloak of anonymity.
