strangely I can't find it in DD as the link doesn't work anymore. The book title is 四五快读 故事集 全彩图 , the book cover is in purple colour.

There is another link in TaoBao where you can find the details.

Nice - so Book 5 & 6 there are stories too, that means. Are there many? I've only seen the page from book 6 in Tamarind's blog. Aiyoh, I'm so tempted to get. I like books that have fairly big word stories, like these. But I don't want the whole series, only those that have stories.
Chapter 3 of book 4 started to have storylines. So in book 4, there are 7 stories.

For book 5 and 6, there are 10 stories in each book.

Maybe you get 4 - 6 bah since you like stories.

Dear me ... I just went thru 1st & 2nd story in the SWKD storybook with my son just before his naptime today. Actually the storyline not very interesting. Some sentences are too simple - eg. 小猴子吃人们给他们的东西. I wonder why the word \"食物\" was not used instead. In those few sentences before, already the word 东西 already used quite a few times (as in, repetitive). And I think there was typo error in the 2nd story and story a little not so conculsive. My son actually said he didn't like those 2 stories. ;(

I guess, compared to his favourite 《青蛙与蟾蜍》books, it's not as interesting. These books are also not difficult. But we've finished those already leh...looking for more, still not found anything similar. *sigh*.

HAHAHAHA! I guess it is Chinese way of writing bah. Sometime I’m also very confuse with the writing style as well.

Have you tried the 老鼠记者 (Geronimo Stilton Books in chinese version)? As my boys love it.

No, not confused about the reading style at all. Just slow-moving and too simple storyline.

I've gone through almost half the Siwukuaidu storybook with my 2yo. The stories started getting more interesting nearing to the middle of the book. Now my son more interested.

Started on this series at home, so far I've only done 2 books and the kids love it. The stories are simple and not too many words. the pictures look a bit western and very complicated but herein lies the fun.

One story 哟嗬!宾可 is about a young girl who goes into the forest to spot animals like foxes as part of her school work. Kids had fun doing a 'where's wally' and spotting the animals hidden within the busy pictures. There's the funny interjection of a group of fox hunters who couldn't tell the difference between a skunk and a fox....leading to a very smelly end for them.

In 吉米的蟒蛇, a girl is telling her friend about her mum's garden party. The pictures are hilarious as the boy tries to imagine the wig that has wings, a crocodile bag which snagged the wig, etc etc.

Haven't had time to do the rest, but will do so with faith that the rest will be equally fun.

Hi, this holiday we managed to borrow a series of CL comics 红楼梦 (3 books) from the NLB and seems that the story is quite interesting and dd have read 2 times before return.

                      http://i51.tinypic.com/25junie.jpg\">

 I also just get to know more on how 贾宝玉衔玉而生, how 一株死而复生的绛珠小草 become 林黛玉 etc

I find the book is not difficult to read and hope it can help our children to know more about 四大名著.

Parents who have started using 四五快读 to teach your children Chinese, can you pls advise?

I started off with book 1 of the series recently. After the kids were asleep, I embarked on reading page 1 of the book that is meant to teach the parents how to use the series. Maybe because my Chinese isn’t good, after half an hour, I only read 3 pages.

So the next night, I skipped the front part and zoomed into the Chinese character cards and started teaching my 3.5yo to read. I didn’t incorporate any of the exercises/games/methods taught in the first part of the book because as mentioned above, I didn’t manage to finish reading that.

Could the more experienced parents advise if my way of teaching ie by only focusing on the Chinese character cards, is ok? I pointed to each word and read them aloud. My gal could remember the first 2 pages of Chinese words that I taught her in 1 night.
