Comparing Math Enrichment Programmes

just want to hear, will u send your child for maths tuition if he already score 100% for his level?
Depends on your objectives and the child's aptitude. If you wish to get your child to explore and push his boundaries, you can send him for accelerated lessons to solve more challenging problems. But only if he is game for it. Otherwise, he will find it a chore and under-perform intentionally. -

Well, IMHO, if the objective is to pass and score in the school exam for his current level, then there is no need for tuition. It will be a waste of time and resources.
However, if the objective is to score in National Exam, then you might want to consider enrolling him to higher level learning, which expose him to more challenging problems. More for building up his knowledge than just scoring in exam. Then again, it will depend on his interest and the stress level that he can take. Otherwise, you are not helping him in anyway.
Tuition are meant to help those weaker students to perform better, and for those lower As to improve to higher As. If you have a perfect score, then really don't see the point. -

Does anyone know what are the rates of the mentioned centers?
Can anyone else please message me your rates? -
Well, what is a good math tuition center? Because there are established? Because they are structured? Because they produced good result? Or Because they have good teachers?
So, everyone has a different view point.
I will think that a good tutor makes a great difference.
So think before you rush to follow the crowd.
You might get a good tutor in your neighborhood. -
I think teachers are more important. Not the branding of the tuition centre. My P4 girl is extremely weak in Maths. She failed her P3 Maths last year, so I decided to sign her up for p4 Maths tuition. Coincidentally, a group of teachers set up tuition classes at the Student Care Centre near my house this year. I decided to sign her up as discount is given to students who are already in the Student Care Centre. The rate is affordable and reasonable as compared to Learning Lab or other ‘branded’ centres. The teacher is very nice as she offered free p3 Maths lessons for my girl to help her build up her foundation. The teacher has her own Maths curriculum which I think is very effective. I can see drastic improvement in my girl’s results. From band 4 in CA1 to Band 2 in SA2. I also heard from another parent that her son used to fail Maths all the way fr P4 to P5. This year, the boy scored an A for his prelims after attending tuition for a year, taught by the same teacher. Hence, I feel that it is very important to get a good teacher who can deliver the lesson effectively.

Agreed. So whether you join a group tuition or 1-1 home tuition, the teacher will be the main contributing factor for the improvement. Well, beside the willingness of the kids to learn from the teacher.
I have Sec 4 student improved from E8 to A1 in prelim, Sec 2 student scored 49.5/50 for his paper 1, and Sec 2 student improved from single digit to double digit 42% (single digit in midyear).
I teach the basic of the concept, the link between topics, so that they will understand and hence remember the problem solving method, even after the examinations. -
