Yes, her daughter is in Nyps p1. They got in via 2B. There was no balloting last year for Phase 2B...

Between Nanyang and Nan Hua Primary, which school is easier or I should say less difficult to get into?

NYPS usually matches the number of PV with the vacancies quite well.....so balloting under 2B is rare though not impossible, and the PV forms state clearly this is not a guarantee

NYPS under 2C may be easier by distance vis a vis NHPS due to lower population density compared with NHPS

By the way NHPS principal is now NYPS principal and NYPS principal is now NYGH principal. If not mistaken, the now NYPS principal also taught at NYGH before .... so it is just musical chair ....loz

He said his son would just go to the nearest school. "You do not need to go to popular school, you need to make your school popular", this is what he said to his son.

Erm, staying within 1km to old or new location would not qualify u under phase 2B in any case. Phase 2B is for parent volunteers, grassroot leaders, clans and church members only..

It sounds very good....but I still believe in 'jing zhu ze ci, jing mo ze hei'. ONE kid against the whole system?? Forget it, it takes a really exceptional lone person to change the system.

My neighbour's kid went to this unpopular school in the neighbourhood, he did very well and managed to go RI...all without tuition. When I asked his dad if the school was ok, he told me in no uncertain terms that his child did well INSPITE of (NOT because of) the school - and told me not to ever send my children there. okie....point taken. ๐Ÿ˜›

If my grandfather was on the ex Board of Directors of a popular school many many years ago, can i somehow appeal for priority to that school for my kids?

:!: Your grandfather??? Grandparents can't help in the registration in any way, let alone great grandparents. ๐Ÿ˜

                        Hi Jor,

Registration for P1 now is so transparent. If you are using your parentsโ€™ address to register for your child, you would need to inform MOE. Even if your parents are active church members or senior members, your child is also not entitled to that privilege. Sorry to say that.
