Anyone has the latest figure at CHS?

      37 registered. 25 vacancy left.

Hard to say tomorrow's turnout, many parents might take leave friday instead of today. But knowing how KS parents are, there might not be much changes to the numbers registered as of today.

      Say 20 vacancies between 2A and 2B.
Good luck to all, no wonder we parents are stress.

Good luck to all parents hoping to register kids in school of their choice.

All is not lost if you do not get a place. Can always try for a transfer later.

My dd was born in the worst year - Dragon cum Millenium. :stupid:
For her entire schooling life, she will be facing that same stiff competition for primary, secondary, jc/poly and uni. Then entering the workforce ....
She didn't get into the school of choice in 2B and 2C. Finally we just took the nearest available school in 2CSup. Met many parents in the same situation. We just put our child's name on the waitllist. When primary school started, the students started being transferred out slowly. At the end of P2, quite a number of students transferred out to CHS and ATS, my daughter and 3 friends among them. So, don't give up hope on the school of your choice.

I think the vacancy for CHS is already very low (210 only) compared to other school. if they icnerease the in-take, we might not be so stress.:(

            Hi clubNAKO,

but but but, SJIJ is quite far...my boy hates taking school bus. I already plan to take MRT to bring him and fetch him from sch.:(

CH intake has been 210 for many many years ago.

Thank you everyone who replied me. Thank you tankee grandmaster for the updates on vacancies. Please continue to update tomorrow... we are all biting our fingernails...

                  Hi Bigfoot,
Looks like we have exactly the same profile..Catholics, within 1km of CHS and thinking of Maris Stella as a possibility. Would you even try for CHS at Phase 2B if only 7 places left? I cannot decide! 🙏

                    cherrygal,

Yes, I am in a dilema too. If I go for phase 2B in CHS, then I may end up balloting in Phase 2C for Maris Stella. Don’t know whether I shd take the risk. Is there anyway for us to know how many register for phase 2B in CHS? If there is a lot and the chances is LOW, then I will most probably play the safest option, go for Maris Stella. I think the most important thing for me is to secure a place in a Catholic School first. We can always try to get into CHS once they have vacancy.

                      Hi cherrygal & bigfoot,

If you both are within 1km of CHS, then you must be > 2km for Maris Stella? Do take note that Maris Stella had 2C balloting these past 2 years for 1 - 2km. So if you fail to get into CHS during 2B, then you won’t even get into Maris Stella.

What about getting yourself a confirmed place in Maris Stella in 2B first? I know it is not your first choice of school, but at least you don’t end up somewhere you don’t even want to go.

sigh…I’m not sure if Maris Stella even have a place in 2B…especially, since the new mrt station is built. might have to ballot.
