My pri 4 DS is sick and will miss his 2nd MT spelling. How many % do the spellings weigh in the assessment? In DS' previous school, it was 5%.

Don't worry, the MT teacher said she will give make-up tests.

BTW, anyone knows whether the school gives the CA/SA schedule or list of what is counted?

      Thanks so much, cherrygal!

Yes, the teachers will soon give a table that lists what is tested, which week it will be on, & how many % each component is.

Any P5 parents here? Any streaming from P4 to P5? (ie are the P5 classes ranked in order of merit or just random allocation for this year)

Only one top P5 class this year (5 Charity) and the rest of the classes are of of mixed abilities. Not sure of the rationale behind this change.

Understand that 4 Charity is also the only top P4 class this year.. As for P6, there is usually no change from their P5 classes last year..

            Thanks firefly38.
Ya, looks like they keep changing the system every year.

My DS is a transfer student whose conduct and results were excellent in his previous school. He knows CHS is a good school and has been active in trying to fit in and make friends, however he has been feeling rather upset with this very senior English teacher who seems to micromanage and picking on him a little. DS, like me, tends to make even more mistakes when being micro managed. Sigh! Can only hope he doesn’t step on the teacher’s toes again.

maybe you should wrote an email to the teacher. telling him that your child is uncomfortable with this micromanagement.

I wonder if this teacher is the same one who taught maths to my son last year... My son had a hard time and lost a lot of ground, and my discussion with the teacher during the PTM didn't go anywhere. We just had to bite the bullet... Still, nonetheless, you should discuss this with the teacher, perhaps during the CNY class party when it is less formal? If this is a class issue (rather than a student issue), you can try to get the class reps to help talk to the teacher in question?

Fyi, my son in P2 now.

For transport, call 64814013 (the vendor) for information on rates and schedule.
My son didn’t have to stay back after school while in P1, 1.45pm dismissal.
He also didn’t have any CCA in P1. He was offered chinese orchestra in P2 but i turned it down cos he said he is not interested.
                      hope this helps…

btw, in case anyone interested, i got an extra white uniform shirt (size 9), washed but not worn for sale at $8. can pass to you in school.
                      thanks

I’m staying beside catholic high. Saw several fire engines and police cars entering catholic high towards the primary school section. Anyone has any idea what happened?
