Nope, I have yet to encounter one that got in as grassroots leader.... r u one?Hi hmsg,
Do you know of anyone enrolling their kids to NYPS through phase 2B as grassroots leader? -
Hi mickeyhmh,
Thanks for sharing!
i guess so too, they have limit their PV intake, otherwise probably too many parents are volunteering, and end up they if their kids do not get a place in the school, that wont be too ideal.mickeyhmh:
Hi i3mum
I went through the PV route, phase 2B. Applied for it early 2006. I was lucky that they picked me. Had to do more than 80 hours of escort duty for excursion, 'security guard' during PSLE, data entry.
Phase 2B last year was quite stress-free. So far for last 2 years, no balloting for 2B. I believe they pick & limit the number of PVs, as they need to estimate for the grassroots applications too. No other competitions from clan, church, association, affliation. PHEW!
Are you staying in Bishan too? -

When I registered my son last year, there was 52 vacancies for Phase 2B. Total take-up was 50 If Iโm not mistaken, there are around 35 +/- PVs. So that would make it about 10+ grassroots got in? I donโt have actual figures, just my estimation. -

hi i3mum
Yes VERY happy!! Was biting my nails on Day 2 of Phase 2B..... hoping there won't be balloting. Even called the office in afternoon to check & confirm before end of registration. Lady told me 'shouldn't need to ballot'. :celebrate: -

Then no issue, they do not differentiate whether u r PV or GL @ 2B, or by distance from school. If 2B is estimated to be 50 vacancies, they usually take lesser PV so as to cater for GL... If demand still exceeds supply, then will have to ballot... past data showed they are very good at their estimation!Hi hmsg,
Thanks... sigh I guess it will be tough to get in as grassroots leader.
I am not, but my hubby is a grassroot leader.
